    FAO Aussies

What are you guys doing for the game ?

Fox Sports Two 9.30 pm - my beers are chilling as we speak, I have warned the batchick, don t make any dinner reservations for Saturday evening, there are much more vital matters to attend to.

I ll be at in the batcave, 'her indoors' can barely believe the rollercoaster is about to start again . She loves the Football season, can hardly believe we take two months off from it .

So lads, what are your plans and where will you be - seeing as we are 'outoftowners' and can t be arsed with the travel ,

I'll be at home with the subwoofer pumped.

My mate wants to go to the casino and says we can watch it there. Bollox.

EPL opening night, I must watch it all.

Then he claims there are 38 games in the season, missing 1 won't matter. FFS, you don't say that to me, it's war! Some people just don't understand.

It s funny isn t it - I ll be going off over something or other in a game, treating the three points like gold and she says 'is this just a regular league game ?'

I have to explain to her that this incident or that potentially can cost you your season come mid-may.

When you have sit in front of your tv watching Michael Thomas take the title from you with a solitary goal in the last seconds of the last day of the Leage season you know this - it is not forgotten. (And no a goal in an FA Cup Final does not make it any better)

There is no such thing as 'just a league game' FFS !!

      Talk about misunderstood

      I m ok now

Yeah same, I like to hear the comm and crowd. Can't get into it watching games at places like the casino. Then you got some tit fans with ridiculous comments that have no idea what they are talking about.

Correct ffs. Also you never know which game will be a classic. A 'normal' league game could turn into a corker plus these days the season is over before you know it and you miss the Football again.

Been waiting months for the Reds to come back and now first game I am having my balls busted to miss it. No chance.

I'll be at the Celtic Club in Melbourne, as usual. We have big plans for the Melbourne Liverpool Supports Association this season.

I'd arranged to watch this game for ages and even put notes on the kitchen whiteboard so the wife wouldn't arrange anything for the 19th or 26th.

So what does she do? Invite her family over for a BBQ tomorrow!

However, she does have some class - she's made it for 4.00pm so they should have all gone home with their respective toddler children by 9pm!

Then it's showtime on me big screen TV and plenty of homebrew to go with it.

I love the first day of the season!

Another question. Are there any decent premier league / champions league / FA Cup / league cup coverage there ?

Premier League is on Fox Sports - 5 games this weekend.
Champions League is on ESPN - 4 games per week in the first Group Stage.
FA Cup is on ESPN - I think a couple of games per round.
League Cup - don t recall seeing much coverage bar perhaps the Final.

SBS is free to air - they also show a couple of Champions League games per week when it is on.

Cheers mate. How do i get it all ? Is there a package to get all that or should all these channels available individually ? How much do they cost approx ?

Sorry to pester you mate, but before moving there, i need to set my budget straight as i've hardly missed an LFC match when it's been played on TV during the last 5 years.

                              No probs.

Here are some links and base estimates.

www.foxtel.com.au - this covers metropolitan areas and should be a similar price to what I pay.

I m in regional Queensland so I get pay tv through Austar and it has the same programming as Foxtel - www.austar.com.au

The base package gets you Foxsports but no ESPN - it is about $50 per month (about 16-17 UK pounds at a guess). To get ESPN you have to incorporate another bundle of channels (about ten I guess) and it costs a further $10 per month.

Those links should give you some more detail.
