    Help Needed with Trivia

    I'm having a disagreement with my Father in Law (Manc supporter)

    I say Liverpool have only lost One game in Europe against an English side. He says it's more than one.

    Can anybody help with this one?

    If you can confirm the team and game as well, I'd appreciate it

    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

      We lost to Notts Forest at some stage I'm sure and then to Chelsea in the 1st leg last round.

      Could be wrong though.

        Sorry Let me Clarify. By Losing I meant going out of competition.

        The only time was 1st Round Euro Cup 1979 vs Nottingham Forest we lost 2-0 away and 0-0 home

        Other meetings have been

        Chelski - Group stages 2006 - Both 0-0
        Chelski - SF 2005
        Spurs - UEFA Cup SF 1973 - Liverpool won 1-0 at Home and lost 2-1 away. But won on AG

        So actually 3 games lost but only one Elimination

          Prior to the Champions League only the league champions qualified for the European Cup although the holders gained automatic qualification which is how we played Nottingham Forest. Since the Champions League started the only English team we have played is Chelsea (six times) and the only match we lost was last week but of course we won over the two legs.
          There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.
