Masher and Xabi in the middle, Stevie roaming from the right, Zenden did well last night but i think i would prefer Riise there and Arbeloa behind, unless Harry does get some first team action before then which would be interesting

I know...Originally posted by The Glove View PostBut the final is just one game so we need a goal then dont we? Pennants good twin is playing really well and he is quick, playing against the old boys of Milan I think he might get a lot of joy there. Crouchy will cause them problems but then Kuyt can chase down balls forever. Not everyone can play
Rafa has showed before that it is hard to guess how he approaches the game.
He knows Milan better now too, so Kaka will not get the room he had last time.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

hmmm....
Milan's advantages:
1) They have been wounded, and this trophy has been their target all season
2) They want revenge for Liverpool making them the laughing stocks of football in 2005
3) It's possibly Maldini's last season and he will do anything to win this so he can quit on a high and his teammates will do it for him
4) Their players are mainly all fit now after a whole season of injuries meaning they are as rested as we are
5) They have Kaka - truly worldclass
BUT
1) We have Rafa - better tactically especially in terms of subs, plus Milan's danger points are all pretty obvious. Rafa should be able to nullify them. Doubt he will make the same mistakes again!
2) We have a better mixture of experience and youth - enough hunger but not quite raw and less fragile players... Cafu, Serginho, Maldini, Costacurta, Favalli, Inzaghi, Gilardino, Nesta all have had long term injuries and are a tad fragile
3) We have Gerrard - truly world class and Carra the biggest heart
4) We are underdogs again... Milan are favourites.. even now people are saying we were fortunate to win 2 years ago and lucky to beat Chelski ffs!!! That should fire us up, and we have a better team than we did 2 years ago, whereas they have gone down in quality.
5) They have their Maldini we have Fowler... would this be his last liverpool game too?
6) We are secure in CL qualifying spot, they aren't quite yet...
Hopefully Rafa's tactics give our lads enough confidence and our superior mental strength does the rest. They have something to prove but ffs so do we! Our fans too... can play a big part
Come on liverpool it's off to athens we go.

Rafa has been knocked out one time in the last four years in Europe.
That was against Benfica. He knows how to play against Milan.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Excellent post who you supporting this time? joke
I think you are right on thier determination you could see it in Gattuso tonight he is some player, he might be easy to wind up mind you along with a few others that played 2 years ago.
I can honestly say i am just going to enjoy the game, it really could have been a damp squib of a season but Rafa has given us a Final trip again, win or lose it will be an occasion the world will be watching and is right back in the limelight again, oh and on any given day this Liverpool side can turn any ****er over and i mean anyone we have 2 special players who you have named who can raise this team against any odds we all know that.08-09 Dirk monitor
5 goals (target 15)
3 assists also........

They will have nothing like the space they had tonight in midfield when they play against us. If that had of been Milan were were playing against last night the way we played, im certain we would have beaten them by more than 1-0. I'd expect a strong start from Milan in Athens again, but we are far better equiped to deal with it now.
Of the two teams, we have changed the most, and for the better, we have decent options now whiel their strike force is not what it was is Istanbul, despite them putting 5 past the mancs. The way I see it if we can keep Kaka quiet, which I know our defence is cabable of we can win the match, we have more up front than they do and I believe our players are still fresh.
Bring it on Milan, IF you lot think you are hungry, wait till you check us out in Athens.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
