Valencia president invites Chelsea, Liverpool to bid for Villa

Valencia president invites Chelsea, Liverpool to bid for Villa
    tribalfooball.com - May 02, 2007

Valencia president Juan Soler has invited Chelsea to make a bid for striker David Villa.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho wants Villa, 25, for his assault on the Champions League next season - and Soler admits he is ready to open transfer talks for the Spain striker.

He said: "If offers that have been talked about exist I want to see them.

"And if they're definite we can sit down in the summer. If I sell Villa it will be because they are willing to pay what we want for the player.

"If they don't pay then he is under contract for six years."

Villa earns £55,000-a-week at Valencia but expects to double his wages at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also tracking the ace and Liverpool sent chief scout Eduardo Macia to Valencia at the weekend for informal talks.

Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo said: "David is happy at Valencia but like everyone he wants to improve.

"His transfer clause is £100m. Valencia won't sell for £40m but for £47m maybe they will."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

mmm ... pound for pound, Eto'o could be a better deal. Cheers for that AF11.

          VALENCIA KEEN ON £13M MARTINS
          03/05/2007

GLENN Roeder faces a battle to hang on to Obafemi Martins after Valencia set their sights on Newcastle's 17-goal top scorer.

The Spanish giants want a replacement for £20m-rated David Villa, who is set to join Liverpool in the summer.

That will leave the La Liga side money enough to test Newcastle's resolve with a £13m bid for a player Roeder paid £10m for nine months ago.

Martins has said in the past he would like to to play in Spain.

Anything over 20 million is silly money. If Villa and E`to are valued over 20mil each then we`ll look elsewhere.Let Chelsea bid into the 30 or 40 million mark, expensive players are not always the best.IE;Sheva,Ballack etc..........

Looks like Villa's agent is just trying to maximise his bonus from the transfer by inflating the price.

I reckon valencia are reday to sell him this summer. Don't know where he'll go though. Lets hope Pepe doesn't tell him about his house being robbed and his car being burned

47 million is stupid money, its more than zidane cost ffs.

25 million for either eto'o or villa would be ideal. preferably eto'o.

:whatever: Anything above 25mill£ is a joke for Villa.

I hope we dont sign him, I know he has been great in spain, but I honestly think he may have problems adapting and is too over priced.
As for Eto'o, yes please, physically stronger and a cheaper option and IMO a better player.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

How much are club revenues going to jump by this year?
                              - Transfer fees will increase be at least the same percentage. 20mil is the new 10mil i think.

When Zidane moved for that sort of money we still had gas lamps and some people though the world was flat!
