Would have expected this crap from Sky, not the BBC ...

    From the BBC web site:

The 2006-07 Premiership season starts on Saturday with Chelsea bidding to make it three titles in a row.

The Blues want to emulate Manchester United, who are the only team with three consecutive Premiership triumphs, winning between 1998 and 2001.

Football success is airbrushed out of history if it falls outside of 1992.

We won the league three times in a row (82,83,84) - the BBC are acting as if the first division only started when it became the Premiership in 1992 is what's wrong with it.

What pissed me off after we beat the Chavs last weekend that the main 606 quote on the Football front page was someone saying Chavski would have won it if they'd been match-fit. No congratulations Liverpool, just bad luck Chelsea. Whoever plays them is just the faceless opposition.

The statement itself is perfectly true. Liverpool have not won the premiership 3 times consecutively. However its still a joke!!

But it says Premiership, so nothing wrong there.
Lets not get to sensitive about what the media says about LFC.

But Division One and the Premiership are one and the same. It's the top division of the football league - different name, same division. Some people use the name-change as a convenient way of brushing Liverpool's history under the carpet.

Not being sensitive mate - but by this count we re not looking for number 19, we still need number 1.

I agree but it is odd, no one goes on about having success in the Championship as opposed to the Second Division as being different, but some how everyone seems to accept that the Premier league was an evolution rather than a continuation of the First Division.

Is it me or do Chelsea fans just follow the lead of Mourinho and just regurgitate the **** he comes out with? Mourinho comes out with an excuse and en masse all Chelsea fans start using it as an excuse for their loss. They're pathetic the way they buy into his bull****.

I know it's wrong what the BBC said but does it really matter, I mean I won't lose any sleep over it will you?
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The English football champions are the winners of the highest league in English football, which is currently the FA Premier League.
We`re use to Sky having selective amnesia about the 104 years before 1992, but not auntie beeb..probably a journo who cant remember a world without SSN.
                          For that persons benefit..In the 117 football championships since 1888 we`ve won 18, manure 15, arse 13, chelsea 3.
The other undeniable point to mention is we will reach #19 + #20 before anyone else..here`s hoping before the decade`s out
