Liverpool and Arsenal can expect competition from AC Milan for Barcelona ace Samuel Eto'o this summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan are switching their sights from Ronaldinho to the Brazilian's Barca teammate Eto'o.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has made Eto'o a prime target for the summer market and discussed a cash bid for the Cameroon ace with the club's new American owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

A swap involving Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has also been mentioned, however it's reported that Barca are reluctant to lose their prolific striker in a straight exchange, given the Frenchman's injury problems.

Milan have made an informal approach to Barca about Eto'o's availability and know that bidding will begin at £25 million when the summer market opens in June.

No, barcodes made a sub standard offer and Utd just made the offer that was going to be accepted from the off, no brainer for Rooney really.

That was the price Everton wanted, barcodes did not make utd increase their offer, it just made them make their offer.

Depends what you mean by a bidding war I'm sure that a lot of transfer to and fro goes on when multiple clubs are interested in a player and the price is raised. I wouldn't really expect the clubs to make negotiations public.
