Carra has a go at José

Carra aims a swipe at Jose
By Peter ORourke - Created on 6 May 2007

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has aimed a swipe at Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho after ending the Portuguese's UEFA Champions League dreams.

The Reds overturned a first leg deficit to beat Chelsea on penalties in a dramatic semi-final in midweek to book their place in this month's final.

Mourinho claimed in the aftermath of the defeat at Anfield that his side were the better team, but Carragher has brushed off the former Porto's chief's suggestion saying Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich might not feel the same.

"Jose Mourinho might be saying that Chelsea were the better team. But I don't think Roman will be thinking that," Carragher told the Daily Star Sunday

"If you go three years at Chelsea spending that sort of money and not getting to a Champions League final you might be in trouble.

"We have beaten them three years running in the semi-finals. We really didn't do ourselves justice in the first leg this time.

"And Chelsea were massive favourites coming to Anfield. If they had got one goal it would have been virtually over

"We have done well to keep them out with players of the quality of Didier Drogba, who is as good as any striker in the world.

"I'm not someone who really believes in fate. But you get what you deserve in life - and we've deserved to go to the final.

"Now we want to win the European Cup for a sixth time."

Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it

But I quite like José. He's a great manager and will be a great loss IF he goes at the end of the season. I think he'll stay though, as Chelsea won't get a better manager anywhere.

You're all weirdos. If Maureen was our manager he would have been a top man.

If Maureen was our manager and with our budget, our style of play would be indistinguishable from the last days of Houllier. I thought Maureen was a breath of fresh air when he first arrived, but he soon took on all the worst characteristics of Ferguson, and added to them. Now I strongly incline towards DS's view.
                    Liverpool FC über alles.

to be honest i think we would be more than a little embarrased by him.

telling lies about referees, moaning about injuries all the time, refusing to be honest enough to admit that his team deserves to be beaten.

i think houllier is a better man than mourinho but we all got fed up with his excuses.

why would maureen be different? i honestly dont think maureen would have survived his first season with the fans on side. let alone, win a european cup and keep our best player out of the arms of richer, more successful clubs.

                        Sorry, but your wrong.

He's an arrogant ****, and IMO, we have no room for that kind of ego at Liverpool

Arrogant or not, I quite like him. That's all mind games FFS, and it's a fookin' sport, so take it easy.

I thought he was funny at first but Mourinho simply has no class at all. I even like Fergie better. He is the worst loser ever and an even worse winner. No saving grace.

The special one is in fact the spacy one.

I hope he's fired this summer.

Sorry, but I have to disagree.

                              IMHO, he's VERY arrogant.

What other sort of person would do what moroniho did after winning the CL, ffs??!!

                              The guy's a prick!

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree
