    Consider this..........

The advent of the new owners, the benefits of reaching the Cl final two years following the greatest CL final of all time and the African Cup of Nations.

In January and february the African cup of nations will decimate the squads of Chelsea and Arsenal. Discuss in relation to the investment that will take place in this Club's squad before next season.
No matter how far back you seem, when you're blessed with class, anything is possible. Chris Bascombe Sep 21 2006

No Eto'o then for you mate?

Still it begs the question as to why the African Nations cup is held at that time of the year.

I'd rather we signed Henry, who is proven in this league. Failing that Tevez.

And if the new owners are really prepared to push the boat out, we should go for Kaka. I mean it can't hurt to try, can it?

Does the weather have anything to do with it?

Cant imagine them been able to play in the summer temp in Africa?

Why not go for Kaka a good offer and Milan might look into it

Kaka would cost in the region of £50m. That would be better diffused a little
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Why would AC Milan sell him anyways, he's their best player and probably the worlds

Yep, Eto'o will have to play in that competition and won't be available for over a month. So, it's Villa for me.

It's a fair point but I'm not sure it should be a deciding factor in buying a player so long as you have good cover. For example, if we signed Eto'o and have Voronin coming on a free I'd still expect us to perhaps go for another striker, assuming both Bellers and Fowler are leaving.
