    Ajax confirm rejecting Valencia offer for Sneijder

    Ajax have confirmed they're rejected a bid from Valencia for midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

    "The offer from Valencia is very far from the price for Sneijder," said an Ajax spokesman yesterday.

    Valencia sports chief Amedeo Carboni had offered £5 million for the Dutchman, with another £2.5 million due based on appearances and success. Ajax are demanding a flat £8 million for Sneijder.

    Carboni is expected to make an improved offer in the coming days.


    Would be a steal for £8m IMO.
    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

    Decent player - but I'm not sure he'd be suited to England, or where he'd play in Rafa's formation. Lack of height is also a problem!

      Initially I would agree but after watching him a few times I actually don't rate him that high anymore...

                              Long term I think that was why Carrick was purchased. Hargreaves will come in and play the deeper role and give a bit more steel and tactical awareness to their midfield.
