richard dunne has been the fans player of the year 3 seasons running. so he's not even man city's best player. plus he seems way off the rails. there seems to be a joey barton incident every few months. this club doesn't need it, and with cash to spend we can do better.

besides, with a central midfield collection of gerrard, xabi, masher and momo i think we're well catered for with good, quality professionals.

None of us know "the truth" about any of those instances, particularly not the latest one. Barton, like everybody else in this democracy, is innocent until proven guilty.

Having said that, I also don't believe he's right for LFC but because of his ability on the pitch not his reputation off the pitch.
What does that have to do with the S*n? Its a **** cliche (smoke without fire) and not true but no need to mention that rag out of context.
What is he innocent of? Beating up Dabo? No he isn't, nor has he claimed to be.

I agree, I don't want him but spouting crap about this being a democracy has nothing to do with this issue. He is always in trouble and would probably be a disruptive influence. He has had half a dozen chances at city that we know of and he has consistantly ****ed it up.
I also think he is a good player for what its worth.

In the context of a Liverpool site the comment was ill judged but I can see the point that was being made. The attitude of the Sun (other tabloids are as gulity but have less impact) is to jump on people without any proof and use innuendo as if it were evidence - which is pretty much the same as saying "No smoke without fire". Which in my opinion is a phrase which should be excised from the english language.

If you mean my comment was ill judged I'd like to think that as someone who was injured at Hillsborough and lost a good mate that I've got the right to decide whether the remarks were appropriate or not.

However, my point - which I stand by - is that most of the replies here are based on unproven 'gossip' provided by the same ****-rag tabloids that purported to tell "the truth" 18 years ago. And yet the gullible amongst us lap it up because "there's no smoke without fire"...

I also stand by the point that Joey Barton is not good enough to play for Liverpool Football Club...

No way do I want this dick head at LFC.

I have met him and he is a complete **** of the highest order.

A few years ago, when Ged was in charge, he went around telling everyone who could be arsed to listen that he said "no" to us.

The little **** wanted as much £££ as Gerrard and a guaranteed starting place as "he was worth it"
I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best, isn't very nice

Not doubting you RW but did you personally hear him saying all those things?

People only mention Barton because he's a scouser. He's not good enough.

I agree with your second comment but not the first. He is being mentioned because he is a decent England international who will surely be leaving Citeh in the summer. Whether he's a scouser or not (actually he's not a Liverpudlian but neither are Carragher or Gerrard) is irrelevant.

I think he is well matched with Keane at Sunderland or he'll go to the Blue ****e who he is supposed to support.
