    The two up front

Since we signed Bellamy, I've been waiting to see us use him and Crouchie as a pairing similar to the old favourite of Toshack and Keegan, yet apart from the last 10-15 minutes of the Comm. Shield, when it seemed to work quite well, they've not been on the pitch together.

I thought today's game was just the sort of match that Rafa bought Crouch for last year - the sort of game where we needed to fight for every thing, hold the ball up well and try to bring others into the attack. I know that Robbie needs to build up his match fitness, having suffered his knee injury, but surely it would be better to have him on the bench and to have played Crouch and Bellers from the start today.

Was Crouch on the bench today as he'll be starting on Tuessday, or did Rafa just think that Robbie would offer more possibilities for us today?

I think Crouch will play on Tuesday. Both Fowler and Bellamy will drop to the bench and we'll play 4-5-1. Probably with Garcia coming back.

Me too. I expect Rafa was thinking of bringing him on as a Sub, but the early injuries of Riise and Carra prevented this
