How many players reported last year that we had bid for themOriginally posted by AFII View PostI didn't think either that Rafa would be interested in a central defender but Milito said that we have made a bid.
Maybe Hyypia will leave or maybe Rafa want to play more often with three central defenders.

The Mirror.Originally posted by fredo View PostTo be precise, it's the *newspaper* which is supposedly quoting Milito, and wasn't it Tribal Football ?
REAL ZARAGOZA defender Gaby Milito has pleaded for the chance to join Liverpool after they lined up a £10million player-plus-cash deal involving Mark Gonzalez.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is hoping to make it third time lucky after two previous bids for Argentine centre-half Milito were rejected.
Milito said: "This is my opportunity to join a big club in Europe. Liverpool have a Spanish coach, which is very important for me."
CLICKY - The MirrorJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Milito talked up the move 2 years ago in order to get a better contract , there's no reason why he wouldn't do it again. However Rafa has got a habit of going after the same players that he's always wanted so if we are in for a centre half I wouldn't be suprised to see Milito on the list , just as I suspect he retains an interest in Alves and Simao.Originally posted by Lecter View PostHow many players reported last year that we had bid for them

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Manchester United have been told it will cost £40 million to prise Samuel Eto'o away from Barcelona.
The Independent says the approach was made last month by United's chief executive David Gill and although the newly crowned Premiership champions have not given up hope of landing the Cameroonian striker, they have made clear they will not pay what Barcelona want.
Any deal would be fraught with difficulties not least because Eto'o is unsure whether he really wants to leave Barca and come to the Premiership. An added complication is that the 26-year-old is understood to have recently sacked his long-standing lawyer, Jose Maria Mesalles, who also acts as his agent, and is himself conducting negotiations over his future.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been interested in Eto'o for some time and it would be a real coup if he could land the player especially as he was, last summer, Chelsea's main transfer target before they decided to sign Andrei Shevchenko. Eto'o has also interested Arsenal, who are desperate to acquire a leading striker, although manager Arsene Wenger is aware that he may not have the funds to compete.I'd say there's a good chance someone got it wrongOriginally posted by Charlie_B View PostIsn't 40m euros approx. £27m which has been quoted before? Any chance the paper got it wrong?
