Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

And latest news, there could be problems with his work permit.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

For sure our idea is to buy all central midfielders in the world.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Liverpool are close to signing Gremio's Brazil Under-20 captain Lucas Leiva.

Midfielder Leiva, 20, is expected to join in the summer.

"The deal with the player and his club is almost done and I am really pleased he is coming to us," Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez said on the club website.

"He is the captain of the Brazil Under-20 side and won the Golden Boot in his country last year, so we know he has quality and we also believe he has the mentality and the character you need to do well in England. "He can play as a holding midfielder but he can also get from box-to-box and so I am looking forward to seeing him score goals for Liverpool in the future."

"A lot of clubs in England and Spain were asking about him but our scouting department has again been working really hard and it's good that he's coming to us."

Leiva will not break into the first team immediately and will be given time to get used to the club, country and league, says Benitez.

"He will arrive in the summer and then will start adapting to football in this country," he continued. We know it can take time but I think he has the quality to be putting pressure on Gerrard, Mascherano, Xabi and Sissoko next season."

It is not known how Liverpool will obtain a work permit for a player yet to represent Brazil at senior level, although exemptions can be made for those of outstanding ability.

Ok ok, I was more reading between the lines.

I agree. We only have Argentinas and Brazils best young central midfielders plus the most complete central midfielder, one of the best passers in the World and bonecrusher Sissoko.

                          That's Rafa's plan. For sure. 100% FACT.
