    Next up, AC Milan

    Road to Athens

Will we beat them? Of course we will. We will fight for every yard and every inch, they will get nothing for free.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

They have 2 games left as well, one of which is just 4 days before athens.

That's where they could be better match prepared than us. Freshness will count yes but we may have problems finishing the match, as we had during extra time against Chelsea.

                -----------------Reina
                Finnan-------Carra----Agger----Riise
                -----------Mascherano--Alonso
                Gerrard------------------------Kewell
                -----------Kuyt
                -----------------Crouch

I can see Rafa starting with the above eleven.

The two question marks are if Alonso and Kewell will play, the other nine players are almost guaranteed to start IMO. If Alonso doesn't start then Gerrard will probably play CM with Pennant on the right but I can't see Rafa gamble like that against Milan so Gerrard on the right and Alonso in the middle.

Zenden or Kewell on the left? Kewell for me because Milan will be more match fit than us, we need to be ready from the start this time, and Kewell gives our midfield a better balance. He can also hurt Maldini much more than Zenden can do.

Bench...Dudek, Hyypia, Zenden, Sissoko, Pennant, Fowler, Bellamy.

They've secured a CL spot for next season so they'll likely rest everyone.

Zenden for Kewell and i agree, he should play Xabi and Masher to shut Kaka up.

Stick Mascherano on Kaka and we are sorted.

If we play to Rafa's defensive preference for the first 60 mins, with all our workmen running ragged in all positions, breaking them down, tiring them out. Then i'm quietly confident that we can make a couple of changes, go to attack mode, and kill the pensioners off.

Let them think Man Poo is the bench mark to beat at their peril!

After all, if it does go to penalties....
