    Bellamy's role in Athens??

I seem to remember comments from Rafa after Istanbul where he reflected on his decision to start Baros ahead of Cisse and from memory he said he couldn't be sure that Baros would be in the right frame of mind to come off the bench and make an impact as he knew he was leaving immediately afterwards

If the quite open rumours of Bellamy being off in the summer are accurate and he knows the writing is on the wall, does this put him in the same "catagory" and if so will this play a part in Rafa's thinking? I don't expect him to start but would like to see him come off the bench and use his pace against a tiring and ageing Milan defence in the closing stages if needed

I guess it could be a way of looking at it, that is, if he is leaving.
I have seen speculative reports about him going, but nothing more.
Yes you are right though, his pace would be a big asset against the Milan defence.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I think that Baros was a much less mentally strong (at least on the pitch) than Bellamy. I suspect that Rafa would play him if his form had been better. As it is I would be slightly surprised to see him start.

Baros and Bellamy is the same type of players so you never know.

I wouldn't start with him. It would be better to use his speed the last 20-25 minutes against a tired Milan defense.

Start with Crouch and get Bellamy on after 65-70 minutes.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If Bellamy doesn't start I wouldn't have him on the bench. He's scored no goals coming on a sub this season, though he isn't alone in this.

I am certain that Bellamy won't start. He'll be on the bench and if needed will come on in the later stages.

He'll be on the bench at best.
