Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

bollox, i know eggert looks like a spontant dude that rushes into things, but he's not the money man, no way Björgúlfur is willing to pay that ammont, when 31 million can strengthen the side so much. never on one player not now...Originally posted by AFII View PostWest Ham is prepared to pay £31m for Tevez.
Tottenham tried to sign Torres for £25m.

I´m not sure. We dont know how much they are willing to spend.Originally posted by Diego View Postbollox, i know eggert looks like a spontant dude that rushes into things, but he's not the money man, no way Björgúlfur is willing to pay that ammont, when 31 million can strengthen the side so much. never on one player not now...
Tevez is a very important player for them.

I heard they've got big money to spend on ONE player...their ceiling would probably be £30m though. The Henry situation would definitely liven things up too - if he went they'd have to sign someone big to placate the fans.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostArsenal?
Arsenal can barely afford their stadium. They'd have to trade Fabregas, Henry or Toure."the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

I can't see him going for more than £25m... surely at £45m you start looking at the worlds very best player (Kaka?...) Of course Chelsea are willing to go well over the player value (and willing to get ripped off!)...so that can inflate things...Originally posted by redhorizon View PostJust wondering, how many clubs could afford him?
The figure being quoted around is anything from £26m-£45m
I always think it's a bit mad that at the very top end of the transfer market the price difference to go one better is crazy. There's talk of 18m for Tevez, I've seen £25m for Eto and £45m for Kaka.... but would there really be £27m difference between Tevez and Kaka or £7m difference between Tevez and Eto. It just doesn't make sense!!
