If Sami decides he's off we'll need another defender, plus Arbeloa has started to look a bit ropier than he did at first. The fact he could be our bench keeper would just be a sexy alternative. And I think he's pretty decent in goal!
i would go as far as saying he is one of the best outfield players in goal and he does a lot of training with keepers as well. He reminds me of Jamie C actually not really sure of his best position and look what happened to Jamie after he had settled on a position although the leg break helped!!

I dont have a major issue with getting Jags, I would be happy ro have another englishman in the squad and reckon he would be a decent squad palyer

I admit I din't but in the games for us he hasn't looked physically imposing enough or good enough in the air from a standing start to be great CB cover in the PL. It is however difficult to judge a players suitability for one position when they are playing in another. It is good to hear more information about Arbeloa either way.

As for "final nail in Rafa's transfer coffin", Rashid I know you have a hard earned reputation on the internet for talking ****e but that's up there with your 'best', fella...

Maybe he could be a regular substitute ready to come on for Reina or anywhere across the back four or even right midfield allowing Rafa plenty of choice elsewhere on the bench.

Frankly I'm surprised no-one has suggested that.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Please let this be true, I haven't been this excited about a signing since Salif Diao.

Maybe if Jagielka had a foreign name you'd all be getting excited, eh?

I think Jagielka is a good player, and he would be an excellant squad player for us. Versatile and a great attitude. Tonge on the other hand is ****e, he has gotten worse with time. No way he is good enough for us. "Jags" on the other hand is imo, tho not for the 6M being touted

Maybe, but £6 million would be an indecent amount of money for him
