Nicey, I don't think that level of vitriol was really justified.
That said I just don't see where you're coming from on this one badpiggy.
2 reasons for posting thread - firstly, i sometimes genuinely think that sg is a problem rafa would prefer not to have - he's not that disciplined positionally, he's erratic, he disappears from big games, he's got erroneous ideas about himself and his best position.
on reflection and in light of a few responses to the thread, there's a case to be made that a lot of this is changing under rafa's influence.
secondly, sometimes i think that rafa is busting a gut trying to get the best out of him. i said it at the time that i can't see rafa being impressed with either sg's sky programmes or his autobiography but he can be a professional about it as he's paid to be and pick sg as long as he doesn't disrupt the team. i think that sg's need for love and the arm around the shoulderis not what rafa is about at all - surely rafa thinks/worries, as i do myself sometimes, that sg is capable of losing confidence in the love the club shows him or the perceived lack of it. just un-rafa like behaviour really.
i was thinking about all this as sg's contract renewal is in the news. i also thought about the disappointing regularity that posts along the lines of "you're not a real fan" appear on here when people pose any questions about the current regime and couldn't resist the element of baiting that this question would cause. i'm also still bitter about the response to thread that i posted post-barca victory on away goals which i jut read again recently and found to be balanced and thought-provoking
so here it is again

for what it's worth I don't share the same suspicions as you, but i think some of the responses where a bit OTT, it seems every other post has a reference to soeone being a scum fan because they make a controversial point.
Now if you'll give me a moment i'm off to make a thread about why i think Rafa should be sacked

If it is of any consolation, I think you are spot on. Especially after the poor showing from Sir Stevie this season.Originally posted by badpiggy View Posti was.

I really have trouble accepting that part. I disagree with your whole post actually, but especially that part. I don't I really need to say why, but it has something to do with cup finals.
Did rafa want StevieG sold, No, not in my opinion he didn't. It was never a case of Rafa wanting to sell him anyway, it was a case of Stevie wanting to leave. The problem was that Rafa doesn't go on bended knee to anyone and is the exact opposite of GH. Rafa is a cold character as explained by sir steve in his book. Owen and Gerrard were brought up with GH putting his arm around them and saying "you're the greatest" and when Rafa didn't do this it was a culture shock. It's also one of the reasons Owen left.
But just because Rafa wasn't begging him to stay that doesn't mean he wanted to sell him at that time. The manager of LFC should beg to no player.Forwards.......
