No Schevchenko. No Crespo. That's a big miss.

If you think in the first half, Ancelotti had the better of Rafa and we were punished. At half time Rafa fixed that and like a game of chess it is now he who must make the next move. Rafa has him sussed and will lock down Kaka but what did he learn from our comeback? Not a lot I would imagine as that is not the way we normally play.

          Good word, "goad".

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Without Sheva and Crespo and with an even older defence. Still Seedorf is better than he was and they will be very motivated. I think talk of their demise is premature and we will have to watchout for the inexplicably successful Inzaghi.

Yep, me too. I spent so long worrying about the prospect of facing/losing to United in the final that it virtually ruined me and this, by comparison, is a stroll in the park. I feel exceptionally relaxed and excited about the game. Of course, come the day and come kick off, all that will have gone out the window and I'll be a frothing, fizzing ball of tension but for now I'm loving the build up.

I feel we've all "benefitted for the run" in 2005 and we're in tip-top shape for this one.

Hey Neil, you seem to have memorised just as many Partridge quotes as I. Have you watched every episode more than twenty times?

No. I just have a far better memory than you.

I remember one that he said.
"there's more to Oireland, den dis"
                    the mans a lunatic
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

                      I wouldn't doubt it for a second.

With the players United have had over the past 15 years they should of won it a few times.
He is afraid of us bigtime.Rafa is on a different level to Fergie in europe.
There players did not get the respect in europe and were always shown up.
I love it when they get knocked out as Andy Gray gets pissed off.

Milan will play Liverpool in Athens next week in a repeat of the 2005 final which The Reds won on penalties after coming back from three goals down.

Ahead of the game, Ancelotti has branded Rafa Benitez's side the 'worst' of the English clubs in this season's competition.

The Rossoneri chief has come out in criticism of Liverpool's style, believing the Champions League final could prove a let down for the spectators.

"On a technical level, they are the worst of the three English teams to reach this season's semi-finals," Ancelotti is quoted in The S*n.

"But that does not mean I'd have chosen to be playing them in next week's final. I would have preferred Manchester United.

"One of the reasons is because we all saw how the semi-final went for Milan, both at Old Trafford and in the San Siro.

"I also believe it would have made a better final in Athens because United are a technical team who play good football and also let the opposition play.

"I don't believe the same thing will happen with Liverpool."

Ancelotti also hit out at the Anfield club for relying on too many foreigners rather than sticking with British talent that served them so well in the past.

"Milan will always have a strong Italian quality because, even with foreigners like Kaka and Seedorf, we remain true to our influences, philosophy and beliefs," he said.

"But Liverpool don't have any English DNA anymore. They are more like a Mediterranean team and that comes from their coach."

He is under pressure, that much is obvious.
I guess he will have to step down if they lose to us again.

this as well as the earlier comments where he said he wanted Stevie to play in the middle just confirm to me that he's thick and that he's trying to get in Rafa's head which we all know won't work

If I remember correctly: Rafa was a great admirerer of the legend Arrigo Sacci. He studied the training methods of the former Milan man, he went to Milano to do that. Ancelotti played for Sacci, as well. So we may say they both are influenced by the great Sacci.
And where did Sacci get his ideas from? The mighty reds in late seventies and early eighties!

The Sacci team from the 80's was brilliant, what a match that would have been if the Barnes, Beardsley et al team was also in Europe, Would we have more European cups and maybe Milan less? as Rafa says 'for sure'
                                We come not to play.
