    Speedy to leave?

    Mark Gonzalez admits he could be leaving Liverpool either permanently or on loan, after the Champions League Final.

    The 22-year-old Chile international has struggled to come to terms with the Barclays Premiership after his arrival last summer from a loan spell at Real Sociedad, caused by a year-long battle for a work permit.

    It is believed Real Betis and several other Spanish clubs are interested in Gonzalez, with boss Rafael Benitez considering the winger's future.

    Gonzalez said: "I have a three-year contract but you never know what might happen.

    "This is football and if I have to go somewhere else then I will have to deal with that, but at the moment I'm here and I'm very focused for the final and what happens in the future will come.

    "If I have to go then I will go, but I will arrive there with confidence because I have been at Liverpool and I must have been there for something.

    But he added: "I would like to stay at Liverpool next season and beyond. But it has not been the best year for me and I know I can do more."

    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

    This report appears to be based on Bascombe's report in the Echo today, which says the same thing.

    The writing's on the wall for Gonzalez, I reckon.

        Im so frustrated with him its unbelievabel !! Its my fault for letting myself believe he was going to be so good. i have him on the back of my shirt and everything. i still refuse to believe that he wont make it.

          Give him another season that isnt affected by injury, never got going.

          He has great pace and if given a good run in the tem im sure he would show his La Liga form.

          Having said that if we got a good offer for him i would take it seens that Rafa will surely buy another one or two wingers in the summer, and maybe Harry Kewell might finally realise that he has to play football at Liverpool and not sit on his ass everyday and watch his wife on tv while he drinks a litre of coke and eats a box of biscuits, while the Pizza is in the oven

            Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                He's really terrible! The most surprising thing is he isn't even that fast and on the ball he is even slower because his ball skills aren't that good either. If Kewell is actually 100% fit and can stay like that we don't need him.

                  I certainly think there is a question mark against his name but I think unless we get a very good offer we should at least give him until January to prove his worth. Considering the injuries he has had I think that unless his attitude has been poor he deserves some time to bed in - from what people saw of him in Spain he is obviously capable of adding someting good to our team.

                      Actually, he has, but each and every one has been a bitter-beyond-belief rant about penalties. Bless him.

                      Also, his posts need validating, which he seems totally oblivious to, the thick ****, so no-one other than the mods can read his posts - which at the moment amount to nothing more than cyber-tears.

                      So basically he's as good as banned, since he offers absolutely nothing to the site.
