...has played 102 games for us and 56 have been clean sheets

thats just about 55% clean sheets of all games, that is a remarkable achievement, and very hard to beat...

Yeah but Nic83 says he's 'overrated'

just imagine if we have a keeper that keeps a clean sheet in more than every other game and a striker that scores in every other game, we'd be sailing smoothly...

And he is only 24, nowhere near a keepers prime ( so they say)

Pepe really has all the makings of a top class keeper

              Qualities :
Speed off his line, has to one of, if not the, best around

Agility, moves very quickly, makes some great diving saves.

Stands up well one v one, not yet in the Schmeical class but good.

Concentration, often does very little for long periods but then reacts very quickly to danger.

              Penalty saves, The King

Distribution, always seems aware of players movement and often releases the ball quickly to start attacks.

Communication/confidence, good understanding with the rest of the back four, gives them confidence.

Mental strength, after a slighty shaky start to this season he recovered well, mistakes in the FA final but great saves later in the game and penalties.

              Could improve :
Crosses, he still flaps occaisionally or gets caught out of position, but I think he has worked on this and is better than last season.

Is he the best keeper in the world?
Maybe not yet but he is young and will keep improving

Gianluigi Buffon is still the best around for me.

Surprised nobody mentioned the defence infront of him.

he's one of the key players in that defence. they play so much better when he plays in goal. he helps to organize them and plays the up the pitch, and with him in goal, we play with the best offside trap in the league...

I just thought that his defence should take some credit for his 55% clean sheet record. They are all superb!

Pepe would cost about 15-20m in today's market... Key player, more so in cups.
