Shock revelation - Carra wants to win it

I just want to win it now

    May 22 2007

EXCLUSIVE by Chris Bascombe in Athens, Liverpool Echo

JAMIE CARRAGHER today urged Liverpool to ‘live for the moment’ as they bid for their sixth European Cup.

The Reds defender, who alongside Steven Gerrard has committed himself to the club until 2011, says he’s sick of hearing about what the implications of Champions League victory might mean for the club over the next few years and wants the focus to be 100% on the present.

Speaking as the Liverpool team prepared to train for the first time in Athens’ Olympic Stadium, Carragher said: “There are too many people - ****s, mainly - who talk about what we haven’t achieved as a club, but sometimes we need to think about what we’ve done and have the chance to do again right now.

“Whatever happens on Wednesday, I know one of the first questions I get asked is going to be ‘what about the Premiership?’. To be perfectly honest, at this moment, I don’t care about next season’s Premiership.

“I care only about winning another Champions League final, and if we win it again, that’s all I’ll be caring about for the next few weeks.

“We’ve got to stop talking about what we want to do and start concentrating on what can be done and enjoy the moment while we can.

“You don’t know how often chances like this come along.”
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
