Attack v Defence myth

It seems everywhere I look someone is going on about the beautiful attacking play of Milan against the staid defensive approach of Liverpool, but the facts speak very differently.

In the Champions League proper both teams have scored 18 goals in 12 games.

In the league, both teams have scored 57 goals, although Liverpool have played 1 game more.

The only real difference is that in both competitions Liverpool has a slightly better defence.

It really feels there is a lack of respect towards Liverpool going into this final, which is incredible considering the enormity of the achievement.

Or it could be my imagination due to lack of sleep

i think its mainly out of bitterness that we beat them last time

we do play good football, and have doen many times this season. It will take a long time for the reputation for poor football played under Ged, and to an extent in the early Rafa years, to be wiped away.

The difference is that they played fabulously against Man United and being as the whole media hyped United to the heavens a team that looked vastly superior to them has to be lauded as fantastic to save face.

To be fair though man for man Milan have the better attacking players.
