    Benfica are ready to discuss a potential swap with Liverpool involving Djibril Cisse and Simao Sabrosa.
    Reds chief Rick Parry admitted last month that Simao remained a target for manager Rafa Benitez and it's understood they have already informed Cisse about the prospect of him moving to Portugal in part-exchange.

    Benfica are keen on the deal, with strikers Nuno Gomes, Derlei and Fabrizio Miccoli all leaving this summer. Simao earlier this season penned a deal through to 2012, but is prepared to leave Benfica should the right offer arrive.

    Portugal's DN says Cisse is also open to moving to Lisbon, though it's understood would prefer to pursue his career in England next season.

    ive seen cisse touted round as low as 4.5 million so a swap deal for a player who is potentially worth a lot more would be great, even if it does involve a bit of cash.

    simao is a decent player but im sure there are better alternatives than him for our lw/rw position. if we have the cash then surely selling cisse will not be a major worry.

          Don't want Simao. I want Alves and a fit Kewell

          A moody ****er! Saw him live in Parken against FCK and he was shouting at his own players for 90 mins. Nothing positive I might add. He didn't run at all. Zero passion.


          We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

            I would love to see us lose Cisse but i'm not sure that Simao is the right player to bring in. It's clear though that Rafa rates him so it could happen.

              Kewell is a better player than Simao, you can also add that Kewell gives 100% every game.
              Just believe and you never know what will happen.

              According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
