    Urgent help needed

Mods, please dont move this for tonight.

Basically, a mate of mine is already in Athens and i've picked up some tickets for him in London. He did all the arrangements via a contact of his, i just collected them because he's already flown out.

So i'm gonna ring him when i arrive, to arrange to meet up.

Problem is, he's fretting that my phone isnt 'set up for roaming'.

I've got the Sony Ericsson CyberShot phone, quite a modern thing and i assumed it'd automatically work out there, but he's got me worrying now.

Anyone know FOR SURE whether my phone will work automatically in Greece, without me having to actually DO anything?

Please help if you know your stuff 100%.

    Many thanks

usually your mobile will just pick up the nearest signal as long as your provider has a roaming agreement set up with them, in somewhere like greece i'm sure all networks can roam there, the only other thing you need check is what bands your phone works on

I'm with Vodafone and it just automatically switches over Syd. Best ring your service provider though.

                        I'm with o2.

Last time i went abroad, i had a K700i which is the more basic model than my current phone and it just worked. That was in Spain.

I'll ring o2 now though. Cheers lads.

                              From O2`s website:

                              Q. Are all O2 mobiles set up to roam?

                              A. Yes. The only exception is if you have requested that roaming calls are blocked on your mobile.

There are a number of checks you will need to make before travelling abroad. Firstly, you should ensure that your phone works on the networks in the country that you are travelling to. You can do this by checking if your phone is dual, tri or quad band in our "Phone Support" area. Secondly, you should check within "Travelling Abroad" that O2 has a roaming agreement with the country that you are travelling to.
