anyone think we could do a similar lineup to what started against the chavs at Anfield? Gerrard and Mascher in midfield, we looked very solid in that game with the chavs hardly getting a sniff all game. Milan have a similar albeit more tallented type of packed midfield.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Barcelona wait for Liverpool green light over Xabi
tribalfooball.com - May 23, 2007
Barcelona powerbrokers Joan Laporta and Txiki Begiristain will be in Athens today to watch Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso in action during the Champions League final.
El Mundo Deportivo says Xabi is Barca's No1 target for the summer market and should the player and Liverpool indicate they're willing to do business, the Spanish giants will kick into action. Xabi's Dad, Periko, is a former Barcelona star and president Laporta knows the Liverpool ace is a big fan of the club.
Barca's football staff want to build a new-look midfield around Xabi and also intend to partner him with Roma's ball-winning Daniele De Rossi next season
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
We'll be playing one upfront IMO. Rafa won't make the same mistakes than two years ago when our defence was badly exposed.
With kuyt, we'll virtually be playing with a five man midfield... we may even start with kuyt on the right allowing Stevie to come inside and roam around more.
Two years ago we didn't have the strikers to work effectively up front we do now.
Crouch will hold the ball up effectively and allow the midfield to catch up. The Italians wont be able to cope with Crouch IMO. The Italians are great at reading the game... we need the unpredictable against them... Crouch is that. I'm expecting it to be Crouch's night.
...
Don't take life too seriously or you'll never get out alive.
Xabi and Masher do not gel together in the middle of the park and i would be very cautious against playing these 2 from the start tonight, and IMO Rafa will be as well.
I dont think we'll win the game if both our CM are sitting in the middle the whole game, we will be far too static.
I hope and think that Gerrard will start in the middle with Masher, i did think Momo would start in the middle with Masher fitness permitting and Gerrard on the right but seems thats not to be.
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long
I hope you weren't using it as any kind of material
