    Reports in Italy are claiming Liverpool are monitoring Piacenza striker Daniele Cacia.
    The 19-year-old Serie B hotshot scored 19 times in 37 games last term, and is understood to have impressed the Reds scouting staff.

    The Italian outfit value the player in the region of £5.5million, with Fiorentina and Palermo also said to be interested.
    Liverpool are keeping tabs on his situation, and are yet to follow up their interest with a firm bid.

    Yeah it does look dubious alright - we have a surplus of strikers at the club at present …. Bellamy, Fowler, Kuyt, Crouch, Mellor, Pongolle, Hammill, Lindfield not to mention Garcia and Kewell, who can also play that role and maybe this Greek guy coming in as well - we'll have to get rid of some to accommodate another striker, and I cannot see how Rafa could justify such a pricy acquisition to the board.

        never heard of the bloke, doubt we would spend that sort of money on a youngster though.
