    Gonzalez set to leave

Mark Gonzalez is set to leave Liverpool for Real Betis after one season at the club.
Rafa Benitez today confirmed the two sides had "almost" reached an agreement over the Chilean winger.

Bolo Zenden, whose contract expires in the summer, has also been told he can talk to other clubs.

Benitez said: "I was talking with him before and I said he could talk with other teams. He knows the situation.

"It's clear some players will leave. We almost have an agreement with Real Betis for Mark Gonzalez."

We must have some other players lined up then

Kewell and Leto on the left doesnt fill me with confidence. If Harry stayed fit all season we would be ok....but thats a long shot.

I think Bellers is going back to Blackburn and MGP is on his way

So we're gonna go for a world class winger ... Or Leto will be given his chance ?

I have a suspicion that we've already tied up some replacements. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear something in a day or so.

We better have someone lined up for the left. Leto will most probably struggle at first.

Wonder how much we would be getting for Speedy?

Surely cant be a player swap...they have no one we should be interested in.

            Maybe a big name
Ribery, Quaresma???..both are right footed...but prefer playeing on the left, ala Pires.....Pleeeeeeeeeeeaseeeee Rafa.

But im more inclined to think we have a deal fr MGP Which i dont mind. He is bloody excellent at dead balls, and will score 10+ a season. He isnt flashy, but he would be a good signing in my book

Hopefully so. I can also see us signing Alves with a minimum of fuss this season.

Well Rafa and Hick/Gillette have dropped enough hints in the last week that indicate that a huge amount of behind the scenes work has already been done. They seem to realise that we need to strike quickly - this means paying big bucks - which we're obviously prepared to do with the new regime.

I expect some signings to be made very soon. The club often follow-up disapointments with new signings.

Yes Tom, and that's why Rafa urgently wanted to talk to the owners a couple of months ago. Targets have already been identified and now we need to pounce quicker than the others. That's in relation to the 'Two steps at a time' comment made by Rafa last night.

                          very true.

Who can we sign on the left though??

one player that ive forgot is Vicente....on his day he is world class. But would be a huge gamble, he has a fitness record comparable with Harry.

David Silva?? Would be a class signing, but would cost a pretty penny In fact if i could chose anyone, it would be him.

Harry should follow suit. Too injury prone.
