    Cash, cash, Cash and more cash to spend

    So for the first time in many a year we know there is loads of cash to for us to buy quality.

    Over and above the funds that our new American owners put down, i would expect us to make quite a lot from outgoing transfers....

    Dudek, Fowler and Zenden will be offloaded and we'll get nothing. But I reckon these are other players who are up for grabs.....
    Bellamy = around £7m
    Gonzo = £5m
    FSP = £4-5m
    Cisse = atleast £5m
    Momo = £8m - have a feeling he'll be surplus to requirements
    Carson?? = he is too good not to play regular first team football, and I think we'll cash in on him = £5m - £6m

    All that said we could expect to receive c£30-35m from outgoing transfers as well as the supposed minimum £50m kitty from the yanks adds up to a staggering £85m at least. Who knows we may even have a few million from the champions league....

    I guess there is also a chance that Crouchy, Sami and Kewell could all be off, but I think they will all stay.

    Will be interesting to see exactly what transpires, and I'll be keeping a close eye on the 'cash flows from transfers in and out'

    Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett will not offer Rafa Benitez a new deal if he wins the UEFA Champions League.

    Liverpool take on Milan in Athens on Wednesday night, with Benitez hoping to secure the trophy for the second time in three years.

    However, with his current contract not due to expire until 2010, the club's owners have no plans to offer him a fresh deal just yet.

    "He is under contract," Hicks told the Daily Telegraph. "His existing contract has a nice escalator if he wins the Champions League.

    "I think that would take care of his immediate needs."

    They are ready, though, to support Benitez in the transfer market - although they are unwilling to put a specific figure on the level of investment.

    "We believe in our manager and within reason will support him as he goes about trying to improve the squad," said Gillett.

    "It's not £5m and it's not £50m. It's player specific."
    "I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Today I will begin walking the road to hell. But you will choose your own path. So, soon you may be seeing heaven. Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."

    "You would've been happier if you'd chosen to join your mother in her world. " - Ogami Itto

      The money we get in will surely all go on the wages of the players most will be getting a pay rise Pepe,Xabi,Carra and Stevie alot of money there.

      ....and god knows who we will sign but with there been so few World Class players out there everyone will be paying top dollar for their transfer fee and wages

        i agree with this to an extent, but i cannot see us signing 7 or 8 players, and when thinking of those out of contract or possibly leaving we have:
        Dudek
        Fowler
        Zenden
        ALT
        FSP
        Gonzalez
        Momo?
        Bellamy?
        Carson?
        Cisse
        Crouch / Kewell / Sami?

        That could be up to 10 players leaving, so the increase in wages would not be as high as you may think.

          Maybe 4 or 5 going.

          I think he should keep Sami,Crouch,Bellamy and Momo the rest can go for me no loss.

          Where the hell is ALT by the way??

              Socheaux, they beat Marseille in the French Cup final last week on penos, ALT scored. Never mind that, sell the fecker.

                  One of the strikers has to go. With Veronin coming in we have 4 strikers on the books already, and will hopefully get one or two more.
                  I would keep Sami and Crouch, but would not loose sleep if Momo and Bellamy were playing elsewhere next season

                    OUT: Bellamy, Gonzalez, Zenden, Cisse, ALT, Sinama, and Fowler
                    IN: Alves, Simao, Eto'o, Voronin, Leto, Lucas, and maybe another kid or two for the near future

                    If that happened I would be ****ing delighted. LM, RM, CF - those are the essential signings. Get top quality players in there and I'm happy.

                      Just believe and you never know what will happen.

                      According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                        Is anyone slightly concerned about the talk of us spending £££. I mean today (according to the press) ManUtd have bid 27.5 million plus Saha for Berbatov, but what evidence do we have that we are going to be buying lots of expensive players
                        We need better attacking players!

                          OUT: Bellamy £9m, Gonzalez £5m, Pongolle £2.7m, Cisse £5m, Le Tallec £1m, Fowler, Zenden, Dudek = £22.7m

                          IN: Tevez £20m, Eto'o £22m, Simao £12m, Alves £15m, Milito £12m, Lucas £8m, Voronin, M. Richards £12m = £101m

                          NET OUTLAY = £78.3M

                          Maybe drop Alves if don't have enough funds or sell Sissoko.

                          That's what we need IMHO if we are to challenge on all fronts.

                            Sounds nice, but i dont think we will be touching anywhere near 78million.

                            Net outlay at the very very most would be 45-50 million.
