    David Silva?

Midfielder Xabi Alonso has been assured over his future but Benitez refused to be drawn on Harry Kewell, whose contract has only one more year to run. Valencia winger David Silva, who was recently called up by Spain, has emerged as a new target.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Maybe one of Rafas two secured targets if our board could stop talking and talking and get down to business instead?

Valencia want to sign Sneijder and he would probably replace Silva.

How old is Silva etc? Never seen him play much, or even looked out for him TBH

He is 21 and IMHO more talented then Villa and more expensive.

Sneijder is an attacking box to box midfielder or just an attacking midfielder, he could replace Silva as an attacking midfielder but not a winger. Although Valencia have Vicente, Gavilan and Regueiro who are all very good wingers especially Gavilan and Vicente.

Anyway, he's a good player and definitely a difference maker but I do think he needs to improve his shooting and crossing a lot to be a good player here. He doesn't provide as much width as an old fashioned winger but can be quite effective as we've seen this season. Valencia's president said that he won't be sold unless crazy money is offered but we'll see I'd prefer us to chase a more regulation winger who will guarantee quality crosses coming in from out wide. I don't know if Silva will fit our system that well, but he's a fighter and great little player. Lets say i wouldn't be disappointed at all if he came.

Your a big fan of Puerta - but didnt he play CB or LB in the UEFA cup final. I thought Adriano was good - especially his goal

There arent many LM outthere worth buying. The Spuds are also after a Left wing (after DD turned them down last year) I think their targets were/are Snejider,Petrov,Nani and long-term they`ve got Bale. We have to be aiming higher
                        We need better attacking players!

                        Torres aint enough

yeah, Puerta was played at left back in the UEFA Cup final. He is naturally a left winger though. Adriano is generally first choice ahead of Puerta but Puerta does get a decent amount of playing time. I'd be happy with him, but he's barely comparable with a player like Silva if you get me. Styles are too different

I have a feeling Silva is one of the next superstars in football.

Does he get into the box? Or offer a consistant threat on goal in any way? I really think it is key that our midfield next season weighs in with some goals, and maybe as important that they make teams worry about them doing so, thus creating room for the strikers.
