decent young player but i wouldnt pay a penney over £15 mil for him as he's too inexperienced and may not adapt to the prem ala gonzalez, morientes.

for 15-20 million we could have a massive range of players to choose from, good times ahead

Silva would be a fantastic signing, he is on loan from Betis or Vigo so Valencia do not own his contract.
Sometimes he gets overshadowed by Villa but he is a cracking player.

If that is the case, then maybe he could be part of a deal that sees Gonzo go the other way if he is owned by Betis

He was only on loan to Celta Vigo, never owned by them. I was of the thinking that Silva is a Valencia player.

David Josué Jiménez Silva, more commonly known as Silva (born January 8, 1986 in Arguineguín, Spain), is a footballer who plays as a midfielder for Valencia CF.

                  Club career
He made his first league appearance at SD Eibar where he played 35 league games for the side whilst on loan from Valencia, scoring 5 goals. In the 2005/2006 season, Silva was loaned out to play for Celta Vigo where he played 31 matches scoring 4 goals. It was Silva's exploits at Celta Vigo which earned him a name and a reputation, and he started attracting the attention of big clubs. Tottenham was one of the clubs trying to lure this Spanish youngster. However seeing his potential and talent, Valencia quickly offered a fresh contract. He is also a Spanish U21 international, and scored 4 goals during the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2005; this was enough to earn him joint 4th place in the goal ranking, alongside Italian striker Graziano Pelle.

Silva's playstyle is versatile, capable of playing as a left winger, playmaker, and recently has been played in Valencia as a right winger. A player of slight build, he is often compared to Pablo Aimar, the player he replaced at Valencia. In fact Silva is wearing Aimar's trademark number 21 shirt. Silva is considered one of the prospects in Valencia, and already a lot of responsibility lies in his young shoulders.

Anybody else think Silva is a little lightweight for the prem?
We're in the process of getting shut of Gonzo who (to be fair) looked a good player in La Liga.
The same applies Jesus Navas fwiw.

                      From another site:

With regards to a possible new contract for Silva, whose current deal runs out in 2011, Soler said in the Spanish media: "We will not do anything (contract-wise) until the end of the season.

"A contract until 2011, and one with a clause of 60million euros (£40million), leaves you calm."
                      Forwards.......

He might be but he's certainly pretty tough judging by the treatment that's get meted out to him by defenders in Spain.
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Silva, is just the flavour of the month. Think we'll be going for someone with a better track record.
