    Voronin

Just shamelessly nicked this link from RAWK

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQTn-JpV68s

I've just sat through all 10 1/2 minutes of this and was quite impressed. How many times this season have we all been screaming at our strikers to get in the sort of positions he seems to take up.

I know it's a goal compilation and it doesn't show his poor performances, but it's made me feel quite positive about his signing. If you can sit through the whole thing (don't expect any spectacular goals), you may be quite pleasantly surprised. I was.

You never know. He's no Fowler, but he gets in the same sort of positions. Maybe just what we need?

I'd be interested to hear what others think.

I'm still of the beleif that we don't need a 20 a season striker as much as a lot of people think we do, so as long as he's a usefull alternative in the fowler type mould except maybe a bit younger and fitter I think he'll be worth his wages.

For what it's worth I still think we'll sign a top striker probably Tevez

Crouch, Kuyt, Tevez, Voronin i think probably

As somebody said in another thread, Manyoo had a good season with goals coming from all over the park. Not just the strikers.

Anyone who can come close to getting into the sort of positions God used to will do me.

Strange that you reckon he takes up Fowler-esque positions. I haven't watched the clip but I've seen him play a few times this season and he was anything but. He seemed to spend most of his time "between the lines" and working the channels. I had him down as a 'forward' rather than a striker.

I can't be arsed watching that for 10 mins but I have seen a few of his goals and they all looked scrappy - I quite like that. We need somebody who arses them in from 2 yards

I was speaking to a mate the other day who has been a massive fan of Voronin for years and quoting him, roughly, he said...

You lot think your league is so great and that anyone that isn't a super star and not from your league must be rubbish. This player is MASSIVELY underrated and you will soon see that this crap signing will prove a great piece of business.

                He'll probably be ****e

Nobody gave Berbatov much of a chance in this league.

Just watched the video of his goals and he seems an intelligent runner who has the nack to pop up in great positions at the right time.

We've lacked this type of player recently and by the looks of things he'll be a decent free signing.

He gets in the box for a start. The amount of times I have been frustrated watching us this season when either one of our strikers or wide men have the ball and there is noone in the box.

He will do for a back up striker at the least.

he reminds me a little bit of Mista at Valencia. I haven't seen enough of Voronin for that to be conclusive though, but if we have a backup player like an inform Mista I won't be too disappointed.

                          spot on.

we desperately need some creativity. Theres 3 strikers there that will score 15+ a season (all comps), and one who will probably get around 8-10.

thats plenty of goals from the striking department.

We need more goals from our wide players, Malouda and Simao would be good for that

...maybe so, but at least he's been getting into those positions, which is more that can be said for some of our strikers of late.

We lack the numbers in the boxat crucial stages of our attacking play. What I've seen of the very brief highlights of his play is that he does get in those positions regularly.
