Antonio Barragán how is he doing?

Just wondered if anyone has followed Depor this season and knows how he's been getting on?

I saw him play a lot at the start of the season (this is the reason i first saw Arbeloa and knew he'd be a good player for us) when he was getting a lot of games and he was playing really well. He looked solid enough when defending and got forward well.

but it seemed Joaquin Caparros was worried about him and didn't trust him in a lot of bigger games. i.e a defence looking like this:

Capdevila--Lopo---Arbeloa--Barragan

turned into something more like this:

Capdevila--Juanma--Lopo--Arbeloa

which has now turned into this

Capdevila--Andrade--Lopo--Manuel Pablo/Collocini

So essencially he was given a lot of games at the start but lately he hasn't played as much. I can't see him playing much in the remaining 3 games of this season, Depor are going to sell a lot of players in the offseason though and I can see a good chance of Barragan having a more important role to play then. Definitely a potentially very good player we have on our hands in him. But if Finnan signs a new deal, with Arbeloa here and possibly Alves I can't see much need for him. But we can buy him back in any of the next 3 seasons right?

yes, i know but I think that the first option dies after 3 seasons is it not? He has a massive rep so I'd imagine Rafa wanting to probably bring him back here at some stage if he develops well.

Why not just send him out on loan? We must have been really skint last summer if we needed to scrape together £2million that we recouped by selling Barragan with a buy back clause.

From my understanding we can buy him back at the end of his second and third seasons, so i'm hoping he gets a better run this season, as doesn't sound like he got much of a chance in this one

i seem to remember someone round one of the forums saying it was on spanish radio. also something to do with we were considering a link up so we can loan players to them. i don't have a link though.
