I reckon that Rafa needs a war chest of at least 90M GBP to build us into a Premiership winning side

Well if Rafa has give us this rant because of the league not being any closer in his relatively short time in charge, he should try and imagine what it's been like for us over the last 18 years.

We are a patient bunch... Chill out Mr Benitez.

Does he feel he needs to detract our attention from the CL defeat with this rant?

Does he really feel that G&H WONT back him???... have we had an example yet where they have not fronted the cash???

Does he just want out of the premiership or is this REALLY the call to arms to appease the fans? Next season or bust. All. Or. nothing. More. Full. Stops. Than. Gerrards. Autobiography......

I honestly can't see him getting all that in 1 summer. Spread over 2 years possibly.

45M will not cut it - we need to be spending that alone on 2 strikers

In fairness no. They've always promised to back him and as far as I remember he looked at 1 point to be heading out the door but was more up beat after his meeting with them in March. However we don't know what's going on behind the scenes, if anything is, to prompt his outburst yeaterday. I just can't shake the feeling that those comments were designed to send out a message to certain people.

I'm not disagreeing with you for one second. Infact I'm in full agreement with you but I think £90,000,000 seems alot. I hope I'm wrong but how often do we have our hopes up for a summer of top quality signings only to be let down. I can't shake the feeling that this summer will be the same old story.

This Rafa situation kinda reminds me of the gerrard contract disaster this time 2 years ago - and the man in the middle of that confusion was Mr Parry aswell - The Americans have plainly said that they're going to spend in the media - we've all heard that but its obviously not coming through to Rafa in terms of cash to spend. I honestly don't think its the amount of budget that Rafa is getting at - I think he's annoyed at the amount of time it takes to close the deals and he doesn't want to **** around like Parry has done in the past and miss out on his targets.

Let it all out now and make them get their act together. Rafais doing all he can to make the club be the best they can. He would like them all signed up by the middle of next month id say. Have them time to settle in and get their heads around been at a new club with new ideas.

Rafa is really showing Parry up now, if he doesnt get what he wants the the fans know exactly whos fault it is

There does seem to be a trend to our dealings where Rick Parry is concerned. I think he's stuck in the dark ages and isn't anywhere near ruthless enough. If his dilly dallying around loses us the best thing that's happened to the club in a long time then he will no doubt be on the end of a backlash from fans.

He just seems so slow off the mark where transfer and contract negotiations are concerned.

He should be given around 150 million a proper total to compete with Manure and Chelski. We are a long way behind them and need to buy a few world class players. If you look at the Liverpool team we only have a couple of outstanding world class players. We need more

I hate to say it but I agree with you. Kenyon is a c*nt but he gets results. Peter Robinson was much better than Parry. It's just a shame that he left the club.

Make or break now this season for Rafa after these comments, in my opinion.

I love the fact that he's come out so honestly, but if he gets - say £60m odd - and spends it on a load of old pony, then he could find himself in a difficult situation, and could (sadly) leave us. What I love about Rafa is that he means business - I think I'm more excited about this close season than any other previously. Looks like our 2007/08 is going to be massively different. Interesting.

I've always felt that it's paper talk though that he was headed out the door. Not at a single point in his time here have i thought that Rafa wanted out.

He still gives the impression that he wants to achieve great things here and the frustration/outburst just goes to show he's starting to get as passionate about the club as us guys.

Maybe he's just sowing the seeds of Parry's downfall. Drip....drip...drip so that people get used to the idea that there are problems, then bump, Parry's head rolls and the club moves on.
