Come on man if we had had a little luck or a touch more quality on weds we would be European Champions again, 3rd in the league pretty comfortably also. It wasnt a great season but was 90 mins away from being so so it can hardly be described as ****.08-09 Dirk monitor

He clearly said that the owners backed Rafa, what he thinks does not matter anymore and that was evident in the way he said it.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostI was listening to 5Live this morning and what Parry was saying was fairly alarming. On several occasions he was asked to back Rafa long term and on each occasion he skirted around the subject.

Yeah, and if we had a little bit of bad luck in the first knockout round we mightn't have gone past Barca. All these ifs and buts mean nothing. We did beat Barca, we did go through and we did lose in the final. We didn't win anything, and were worse in the league than the previous season, out of the title race by Christmas.Originally posted by lfcruleus View PostCome on man if we had had a little luck or a touch more quality on weds we would be European Champions again, 3rd in the league pretty comfortably also. IF we'd won on Wednesday the only reason I'd not be saying this is because I'd be too busy celebrating and lapping up the fact we'd won number 6. It wouldn't change the fact that domestically we'd been ****e, and when pressed to analyse our season I'd come out with the same damning criticism. Just as Rafa and Pako did after we won in 2005.Like blood on iron

You're right, I am. But the same kind of bad mood I've been in trudging back from a number of ****e performances this season I'm afraid. No more Houllier-esque no shows next season please Rafa, I couldn't handle it.Originally posted by lfcruleus View PostYou are in a bad mood.

if by **** you mean not coming close to winning the league, well then yes it was ****.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostHe's got a lot to learn if he thinks 'Liverpool had a successful season'. ****ing hell we've had a pretty **** season.
but since we havnt come close to winning it in years,id say its been a pretty average season, but taking into account we got to the final of the champions league id say it was a bit better than ****.You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.

None of this is my point. I don't want to get into an argument about what constitues 'pretty ****' and what doesn't. It was a remark made for effect to illustrate my point, how much an exaggeration you think it is isn't really the point. 'Liverpool had a successful season' - absolute ****ing joke. That's my point.Originally posted by Rafa Shankly View Postif by **** you mean not coming close to winning the league, well then yes it was ****.

Every club except the Mancs would swap places with us this season, even Chelsea who would have loved to have been in Athens. I also know for a fact even the Mancs were desperate to be there.
We might not have won anything and 'only' finished third in the league but it's not been a **** season by any stretch of the imagination. There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

lol......successful season my arse!!!!
we won nothing!!!! and finishing 4th in the league is not anywhere near successful or acceptable for a club like ours"In fact I’m going to make a promise which will be welcomed by many. If there’s no finance secured by the opening day of the season, I’m going to hang up my keyboard and close KOPTALK down." - Duncan Oldham, Expert Conman. March 29th 2006

your entitled to your point of view, but describing our season as pretty **** is a bit harsh.
it wasnt successful because we didnt win anything but it wasnt **** either.
pretty **** constitutes pretty ****.
it does not constitute being beaten in the champions league final, just, and coming third in the table. You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.

I'd say it was pretty **** myself but it depends what your measuring stick is, I imagine Charlton would say their season was pretty **** and everton would say theirs was pretty successful.Originally posted by Rafa Shankly View Postargument

For a team who got knocked out at the first hurdle in the fa and carling cup, had no chance of wining the league after about the first 7 fixtures, and got to the final of the CL and lost, i;d say it was pretty **** tbhThomas Hicks Senior
