Einar have you ever been the subject of a news story? I have. What got reported in the press by all the newspapers bore no resemblance to the truth. They were playing hit and miss.

Yes but they where there, and reported the same thing. It was all pretty serious stuff and Rafa has not come out to deny anything. Plus like I said George, Tom and Parry have all commented.

I think we can safely say that these stories are true, and the quotes pretty accurate.

How many times have you seen The Times invent direct quotes?

I don't read the Times because it's run by Murdoch who runs a certain Red top paper.

Do you reckon it happens often?

How would I know if I don't read it. If you think that just because its the Times means that it tells the truth more than say the Evening Standard then your perception of the press is markedly different from mine. Papers are about selling newspapers. The truth comes a poor second.

But there is a difference between stretching the truth, hypothesing and making up direct quotes. No?

I´ve heard that the English press is bad, but I hope it is not that bad.

Al, there's plenty to be pissed off about at the minute. The whole fiasco in Athens and beforehand, combined with the Rafa very pointedly commenting that he is fed up of talk and wants action means people are questioning the managament of the club. It's all very well saying be patient but Rafa is clearly sick of being patient. 17 years without a league title is a lot of patience. 3 years of Rafa not being able to sign the players he wants is a lot of patience on his part. Now that we have the resources we need to pull our fingers out and actually get things sorted.

Hopefully in a week or so we'll have made a top class signing and things will settle down a bit. But given the recent questioning of Parry's competence and Rafa's comments it's hardly ridiculous that people are worried. You might say the papers have all put a huge spin on this and that may well be true. But forget what the journos write, the quotes alone cause concern. People are just debating their concerns about what's happening at the club right now.

RP, the only thing I'm pissed off about is the result. I have been saying on here since the Americans arrived that they have talked a good job but as yet we have seen no results. I'm prepared to give them the patience I have shown Rafa. Parry is clearly being marginalised and it's not a moment too soon. Change is always painful but we are far from a club in crisis. One good signing (ie Alves etc) and everyone will fine and dandy again. We are a fickle bunch at heart.

Of course, we're not in crisis I agree. But so much of what is going on around the club right now is negative. Like you say a really top class signing soon would change that, but I think that would allay a lot of peoples fears rather than it just being a case of everyone's fickle. Whatever the case it will all be ok soon, AFII have already said Alves will sign for us so he's 'nailed on'
