    is Nani what we need?

    Manchester United and Tottenham target Nani is keen on a move to the Premiership.

    The Sporting Lisbon winger, dubbed the next Cristiano Ronaldo and aiming to follow in his countryman's footsteps, claims he has made his future intentions clear to his club.

    Reports suggest Martin Jol and Sir Alex Ferguson are vying for Nani's signature and the 20-year-old would like to be given permission to speak with a suitor should the right offer come along.

    "Sporting know my opinion about this subject. If an offer arrives which offers a good opportunity then I want to talk about it," Nani told the Daily Mirror.

    "Going to England is one of my options because the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and it will be a big challenge. But I have not spoken or made up my mind about any one club.

    "I am prepared to go to England because I believe I would progress there."

            He's lightening quick at least. he's a winger which we need. Have we actually been linked ot him at all? I know a few people on here have mentioned him but I've never heard any of the media actually link us to him. Also, he appears to be a right winger as well so why would the scum want him if they've got ronaldo?

              he isn't that great. Over hyped IMO.

              he's quick, and doesnt have the greatest touch....he's known for his brilliant back flips when he scores.

              He's 18 by the way.

              Id much rather Giles Barnes. Cheaper and better.

                        So would you be worried if the scum signed him then? Thought Giles Barnes was a CM where as Nani looks like a winger.

                          he has raw talent....thats for sure. If we had the funds to compete for his signature, and get an experienced class winger aswell then id be all for it.

                          But if he is our major signing for the wing, i would be dissapointed. He will take time to settle, and could fail.

                          Man Utd have that luxury as they have Giggs and Ronaldo ahead of him.

                          I would be a tad worried if the snagged him He has shown glimpses of real talent...but they are only glimpses.

                          Theres a compilation from a Portugal v Belgium game floating around somewhere....he looks very good in that. Some lovely touches of the ball, and real pace....very C.ronaldo-esque. But then you see him other times and he looks quite ****e.

                          But like i said he is not a signing we should be after. If he is still at Sporting next summer...or January, and we have the wings sorted, then id be all for it.

                          Giles Barnes, when ive watched him has always played on the right. He would be a very good signing by Rafa, because i think he will become a cracking player. His close control is amazing.

                            He does look a little bit raw to add instant 1st team quality. All though he has most of the attributes I think we are looking for in a winger. Im struggling for likely targets for the wing this summer, there seems to be loads of viable targets for up front but the options seems limited for wingers. I would like to see us go for Quaresma although I havent seen even one link in the media that he is on Rafa's radar

                              Quaresma is most definately on my wanted list. He is a cracking player.

                              if i could choose 2 wingers for us to sign it would be Malouda and Quaresma. Both offer goals, and quality delivery from wide areas.

                              Cant see it happening though.
