    Pointless Possibilities?

I keep reading and looking some of Rafa's old press confrences and the one word which keeeps popping up and everyone knows is 'possibilities'.
Crouch, he gives the team great possibilities holding the ball up and bringing other team mates into play, great when he is the leading goal scorer gerrard is on the wing and Alonso and Masc are on the half way line.
Kuyt, runs well for the team hold up the ball defends from the front, pitty he is never in the box to credit for his own work, or someone else is in the box.
Rafa needs to change his tranafer policy and realise that team work is not ALWAYS the key, how many of our strikers do we have now who chase down a ball when the keeper spills it, Kuyt and Crouch arnt in the box much? Whats the point of having two wingers and playin Kuyt then, we will have a crowd of players ourside the box and not many inside the box.
Riise and Aurelio, track back great do the occasional good run, give the possibility to swap around but not great left midfielders.
He needs to change his transfer policy and look for some quality players who are amazing at doing their job and their job only.
Why not just get a left back who is good at defending and a left mid who is good at attacking instead of having two go betweens.
If we want possibilities, sign two players not two in one players.
Fowler, Owen, Solskjaer all goal poachers who dont do much but score goals, i remember people moaning about Owen not doing much in a game but when it come to the 80th minuit and he banged one in, it was all forgotten.
I think Rafa looks too deep into this statisitical anaylysis PC thing looking at every fine detail when he just needs to go back to basics and get a lazy goal poacher. A natural goal scoerer, for me the only ones left are Owen, Huntelaar who are realistic targets, they just find the net with ease.

It's Rafa's style to play with such multifunction players Abro. It was a style that worked for him at Valencia, allowing him to change formation during the game but not necessarily the team itself. It's clear we need a bang em in striker, may be Owen, Huntelaar. I would like to see Eto'o personally.

Ill agree it will work to a extent in some formations such as left/right back and wing but it is still not effective as having a good player at Left Wing then Left Back and one who does both on the bench. Say like sell aurelio, Keep Kewell and Riise get someone like Shorey and a Left Mid, then you have Riise who can do both and alternate so rotation still isnt as harsh.

I sorta agree, given that he has only 2/3 of the sqaud he is looking for the multi-function players are important. Hopefully, by the summer he will have rounded out the squad and there will be less emphasis on possibilities and more on quality.

        Fingers crossed.

          I agree.

He looks too deep into this statistical analysis thing.

Maybe if he didn't, he would've won more than 2 la ligas, a UEFA cup, European Cup, FA Cup, Carling Cup, Super Cup etc etc...

          Rafa, sort it.

He'll bring number 19 and you can take that to the bank
