Whilst in Estonia?Originally posted by IrishPaul View Post

The press conference today is for SG and JC signing their nice new fat contracts
Rumour control is out of control - there is no press conference, Rafa is not resigning and whilst Stevie and Jamie are due to sign a new deal my guess is it won't happen in Tallinn but when they get back.

My post was just a possible explanation for the club to have a PC today
Rather than to announce 'Rafa Resigning' which is what the drama queens were waiting for :whatever:

lets hope something positive like this happens soon so we can all have something to smile about, not that I am frowning anyway
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Rafa won't be resigning today simply because he's still on holiday. Expect that announcement early next week.

From Rawk:Tom Hicks was furious with Rafa for criticising him and Gillette after the CL final. Hicks and Gillette promised David Moores that when they took over the franchise they would not sack Rick Parry.
Rafa's gripe was with Parry but he then twisted it so that the yanks thought Rafa was really moaning at them. Rafa wants Parry out because he is the one holding up transfers.
Further to all of this the yanks have brought in accountants to review Rafa's transfer dealings (money in and money out) but it seems that all this will do is highlight Parry's incompetence. He after all sanctioned and negotiated most of Houllier's transfer dealings during which time many of our assets (players) lost value and were sold on at significant loss.
Rafa will therefore look all the better for this audit as the likes of Sissoko have doubled in value since joining LFC. Even those who didn't quite make it were not significant loss leaders. The club was also in a much less healthy state financially when Rafa took over than when Evans and Houllier were in charge so through all of this will come a bleak impression of Parry.
Let's not forget that we have also failed to exploit commercial opportunities such as those developed by Manchester United and Chelsea. Although Peter Kenyon is a female genitalia he is very good in the field of brand development and commerce.
Although Rafa will not resign on Monday I am led to believe that he will continually review his position over the coming weeks as the americans will not give him the money he expects to sign the players that he believes he needs. In effect the actions of the club's owners and Chief Executive in the next 7 days could influence Rafa significantly.
Benitez will return from his holiday in the hope that Parry has negotiated two major signings that will be sealed by the end of the week. If Parry has not delivered then Rafa may have to move on.
He is very much in demand with Juventus and Madrid still keen on his services. What we must all remember is that Rafael Benitez could find a job anywhere in the world of football

The whole reason Moores sold the club was because he couldnt afford to spend the money that would allow Liverpool to compete with Manure and Chelski.Originally posted by Tom View PostI don't know how he "knows" that the americans wont give rafa the money he needs. So could be bollox.
Now if the yanks dont have money to spend then i will be very surprisedWhen you feel like you're done, you are not alone........
