Isnt it more likely they`ve done a Rooney [no, not that], agreed a large fee, but actually its a small fee upfront and its got lots of unrealistic add-ons (like ever winning the ECL in the next twenty years for example)
This is used to big up the new player and club value and intimidate clubs like Citeh (but not clubs like us)

We more than matched them at home this season with our 'good/average' squad, all we were missing was a bit of creativity and an outlet for it, and we would have seen them off about 3-0. I am depressed...
Not because of United's signings although that didn't help, and not because we haven't signed anyone of any note yet because I am sure we will. I am depressed on two counts.
1. We have one of the most incompetent Chief Executives around.
2. Our manager (one of the best in the world and a proper gentleman) is obsessed with grafters, hard workers, with defence first tactics. What happened to freedom of expression etc?

Well, its crap thread time again!! Apologies to all those positive types who've posted here, I cant be bothered to read the whole thing, but I can guess the gist of it. What a load of bollocks the original assertion is!! So United have bought three players we didnt want, woo dee doo. Hargreaves for 17 million? bloody hell, Bayern will be laughing all the way to the bank. Anyone on 'another ' site last season, and the season before, who suggested we buy him was condemmed, now he's the dogs balls. Put him with Carrick and you have the two most invisible midfielders in the prem, I know United won the league, but that was mostly on the back of one player, shaeds of Liverpool in 87 if memory serves. It only papers over the cracks. As for the other two...30 million? nah.
Good players or not, they cany all play at one, and Chelsea have demonstrated this season that buying expensive players isnt always the answer. The cups were won woth mainly last years squad. All this negativity one week after the seasons finished, go and take up knitting or something if footys too competetive and risky!!Comment
