You use grafters alot Rashid.Neither Malouda or Alves who we are linked heavily with are grafters.Every manager has a different philosophy and that can be seen on the pitch and transmitted to the players.Get used to the fact that a luxury player wont play for us.Most of these players have huge ego's and cause dressing room unrest.Brazilian Ronaldo and Ronaldinho and Ballack to name a few.Liverpool would'nt stand for the circus that goes with them.

I'd hardly call it appalling. In his first season it wasn't great hence the reason we finished 5th. In his second season it started poorly, 6 draws from the first seven games was it? It ended pretty well though. Last season was probably slightly better than the second season although I'm guessing because I haven't looked it up. The signing of Bellamy was a big let down because he offered nowt. If we can replace him with someone better I think you'll see an improvement next season. It's not about going out and buying every single talent under the sun like the chavs do it's about progressing year on year and so far Rafa has done that. If you think he hasn't then you've clearly banished the Houllier days from your memory.
My only complaint would be the amount of draws we've had but with the right signings I'm sure that'll be rectified.
We had a better home record than any other team last year and if we can keep it up next year and improve our away form we'll be fine.
There's nowt to be depressed about, mate.Last edited by kurtangle01; 01-06-07, 12:05 AM.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Football has changed in the last 15 years, if you have a look at all the leagues it is mainly attacking teams that win them. Hell even Italian teams like Roma and Milan this year have built sides that attack for their lives. With the back pass rule eliminated and gulf between the larger and and smaller clubs becoming bigger, clubs are going for the jugular when playing the small teams as opposed to 'controlling games'. Maybe with Mourinho and Benitez countering the Wenger/Fergy attacking football love in we have a good balance, except I don't like the side we are holding up. Some trivia - guess which club for the past 2 seasons in the PL played the most 50 yard plus balls? I will give you two guesses and it's not Bolton.Originally posted by Steve101 View PostSo, we have a sucinct appraisal of Parrys abilities there. Thanks for that, I understand fully now.
I didnt realise Rafa just did defending, same as GH really. Now didnt you say the same about him?
This Shankly style footy, sounds a teeny weeny like the stuff we try to play now. In fact, Shanklys 'great team of the 60's'- who i had the pleasure to watch on many occasions- were nicknamed The Robots, and the man himself once expressed a vision of his team 'like a machine, rolling over everything in it's path'. oh dear, you'll have to have a go at Shanks now.
Look down, you'll see your feet are full of holes where you've shot yourself.
I'll say it again......bull****.
Back to Rick Parry.
1. Took 5 years to find investment for one of the biggest clubs in the world and when he did he ditched them last minute because they wanted it done quick. We now have two guys in charge who have a combined wealth less than that of Randy Lerner.
2. Agreed a 60K stadium, now detracted it, and in the middle wasted 4 years and the costs have gone up by £100M.
3. Messed up several transfers e.g. Vidic, Simao, Walcott to name but 3. Regularly grasps defeat from the jaws of victory in this area.
4. Presided over the shirt fiasco after the last CL final win, and failed to capitalise on our new found prestige.
5. Nearly lost us Steve Gerrard as he couldn't be bothered to tie up his contract, even this year he has been lambasted by Rafa for his slowness in this area.
6. Presided over a calamitous ticketing fiasco this year, first said he won't get into the numbers game and did so a week later.
7. Managed to get the countries 2nd biggest club, and globally one of the biggest brands, a sponsorship deal smaller than Spurs - for that alone he should be sacked.
If I had time I'd think of some more...Last edited by Rashid; 01-06-07, 12:05 AM.

steve where do you want to begin with parry? the biggest crime of them all is the selling out of this club and its fans to the shareholders. ****ing criminal. lifetime guarantee of tickets? that is a ****ing joke. all indications are, that it suggested and pushed by parry to make the transition smoother. he sold the average fan out. shareholders were rewarded handsomely enough without the promise of tickets. i could see making a season ticket available to those without, 1 season ticket per 1 shareholder and having them go thru the same loyalty scheme as everyone else. shareholders dont need to attend one game yet they can and will be the first ****ers to claim a ticket for any final (without any loyalty credits). it should of been a clean break, you know it, i know it and joe average knows it. parry is a ****, end of
and btw when all is said and done, once parry is done with liverpool he will be a board member for carlsberg.Last edited by Revo; 01-06-07, 12:16 AM."People from Liverpool have got something about them and, if they’re not happy about something, they let people know.”

I think Rafa's comments are enough really.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostSo can you prove this?
Dave Usher who is pretty close to our youth setup said Southampton offered us Walcott for £3M before he signed a pro contract cos the player wanted us so much, Parry held out for £2.5M and he ended up having a great season at Southampton who gave him his chance so refused to move on the cheap. Good on him. There is a massive list of these kinds of cock ups.

I vote that we ban you until you start taking prozac or some such.Originally posted by Rashid View PostNot because of United's signings although that didn't help, and not because we haven't signed anyone of any note yet because I am sure we will. I am depressed on two counts.
1. We have one of the most incompetent Chief Executives around.
2. Our manager (one of the best in the world and a proper gentleman) is obsessed with grafters, hard workers, with defence first tactics. What happened to freedom of expression etc?
Football - what a beautiful game? Or not...
