Thanjk you.

Some trivia - guess which club for the past 2 seasons in the PL played the most 50 yard plus balls? I will give you two guesses and it's not Bolton.
so all these 50 yd passes were long punts upfield were they? not any glorious cross field balls? funny how the players who can do them are applauded as having a special skill.
Back to Rick Parry.
1. Took 5 years to find investment for one of the biggest clubs in the world and when he did he ditched them last minute because they wanted it done quick. We now have two guys in charge who have a combined wealth less than that of Randy Lerner. Just Parry. on his own? And would you rather have Randy Learner in charge then?
2. Agreed a 60K stadium, now detracted it, and in the middle wasted 4 years and the costs have gone up by £100M.
as above, just parry? If others had there way we'd be having half the seats blue
3. Messed up several transfers e.g. Vidic, Simao, Walcott to name but 3. Regularly grasps defeat from the jaws of victory in this area. So your party to the ins and outs of these deals then? and the players never made a choice? and every other club gets every player they want? (Alonso anyone?)
4. Presided over the shirt fiasco after the last CL final win, and failed to capitalise on our new found prestige.
The CE, again, on his own? dont think so.
5. Nearly lost us Steve Gerrard as he couldn't be bothered to tie up his contract, even this year he has been lambasted by Rafa for his slowness in this area. You make this one sound so simple. Blaming Parry alone for this is verging on the absurd. Only one person made the decision to leave, then change his mind, and it wasnt Rick Parry. Stevie G has a lot of soul searching to do over that affair.
6. Presided over a calamitous ticketing fiasco this year, first said he won't get into the numbers game and did so a week later.
A cock up, your right. but this 'presided over' is a bit vague.
7. Managed to get the countries 2nd biggest club, and globally one of the biggest brands, a sponsorship deal smaller than Spurs - for that alone he should be sacked. Again, maybe a cock up, maybe not. but niether you or I know the details, so hard to comment.
If I had time I'd think of some more...
Im sure you will, since your football argument seems to have bitten the dust.
Listen, I'm not saying Parry is the perfect CE, but I really think some ill informed people here have it in for Parry at every turn, and neec to ease up a bit.
ScouserTommy- I sympathise with those who didnt get tickets for the final, but as a season ticket holder for far too mant years you can rest assured that ticket allocations for finals has been difficult a long time before Parry got his job.
I don't know if defensive is the right word but Rafa can hardly be described as being particularly adventurous. I mean, the most attacking he's been this season was against Chelsea when he played Gerrard in the middle with just Mascherano for protection. For most sides that's hardly going at a team with all guns blazing, but for us it was seen as a huge risk, which is a measure of where the Rafalution has taken us.
True he did play 4-3-3 against the mighty Watford away, then went with it against Everton only to force Kuyt into playing left-wing for most of the game rather than sticking to attacking the bitters.
And, really, for all the great player Kaka is Milan finished way off the pace in their league. We basically gave up playing them properly because of one good home performance and a decent away performance against a tiring Man Utd. this was a Milan side that couldn't even score against Celtic over 180 minutes of normal play. Celtic are a decent team but they ain't that brilliant.
The more I think about the CL final the more and more frustrated I become with what Rafa did there, particularly with not starting Crouchy. Which premiership team are Milan most like? For me I think of Arsenal, the team we soundly beat playing the 4-5-1 Rafa wanted with Crouch up top. With Kuyt in the team we went 4-6-0 and though some of the 6 did get forward we never really looked like converting our possession into goals enough of the time.
Lucky for him the behaviour of some idiot LFC fans has somewhat taken the focus off the actual match itself, this combined with his rant the day after, some of which I do sympathise with, has managed to deflect any real criticism.
Not because of United's signings although that didn't help, and not because we haven't signed anyone of any note yet because I am sure we will. I am depressed on two counts.
1. We have one of the most incompetent Chief Executives around.
2. Our manager (one of the best in the world and a proper gentleman) is obsessed with grafters, hard workers, with defence first tactics. What happened to freedom of expression etc?
Football - what a beautiful game? Or not...
Valdano was right though.
I'd normally formulate some kind of well thought out post and back it up with sold reasoning and fact, but I can't be arsed, it's getting late, i'm tired, work in the morning so i'll leave you with your diploma:

That is the perfect answer to today`s biggest WUM.
steve, the break from shareholders should of been clean.
I agree with that. No way should they still be getting priority and the promise of a season ticket. What about fan like me who've been on the list for years? I'm not saying I should get more priority than anyone else but surely the fact that you put your name on the list and wait patiently for years counts for something.

Firstly Milan did'nt get out of first gear against Celtic.About the final,Pennant Gerrard and Kuyt had super chances.Milan were negative and got lucky.Maybe Crouch should have played but we dominated and did'nt get the luck we deserved.Milan beat Man U3nil ,the team most people on here think are the best team on the planet now they got Hargreaves who nobody wanted 2years ago and two players with potential. We should back our own team and see who we sign.We are extremely lucky to have Rafa.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
everyone wants to know
Alonso Alonso Alonso
