DIC would have provided with an open war chest and get the top players. At the end of the day they would want a return on thier investment and immediately. They had a plan of 7 years and then move on sell the club didnt you read on these facts.Originally posted by BrettUSA View PostYes, I've been a Liverpool fan for a long time. I'm not going to justify myself to anybody though. And I've no idea what a WUM is!
I think DIC would have had a greater desire to be the best and, more importantly, to be SEEN to be the best. I believe G & H are more profit orientated (although I expect at least one big signing...not because they want to but because they have to).
Basically, you don't make a profit on a football club if you splash out big money on players.
I suggest you do a thorough research on Shiekh Maktoum the Dubai ruler and chairman of DIC.......he is not one of those that would wait for a return on his investment, he clearly wants immediate results.
In my eyes i have no respect for him and i am happy he didnt get Liverpool

Yeah i kinda went hard on him my appologies to Brett.Anyway you will be surprised what zambians would know about english football. My family have been supporting the reds since sixties mate and most of my fellow liverpool supporters have also been following english football since late sixties early seventies.
We zambians take pride and have enough knowledge on global football let alone english premier league.

IMHO you need to tell where you got your info or at least on what you base your opinion.
You could also say that you dont make money in football unless your team is winning trophies. And that means spending money on players.

Firstly, I think calling Manchester United "scum" is infantile and pathetic.Originally posted by Zambian_Red View PostGo to hell who do you think you are as if you have some sort of insider connection to the new owners. As if the scums are free of debt, remember the glazers borrowed vast amount of money from hedge funds investments and it looks like the american economy is heading into a recession and i will luv it when the market tanks and it would be awesome when they face with crippling debts, you scum loving tosser
Secondly, just because I state the obvious (ie that ManU are the best team in the country) doesn't make me a "scum loving tosser". It's called realism and you should try it!
Finally, there's no guarantee that the US economy is heading into recession. And the weak dollar makes sterling investments attractive.

Why do you keeping referring to Parry as "your" and LFC as "your club" if you are truly a RED you would have used "we" as a club..WIND UP MERCHANT18-5-7-8-3

Yeah i will give them credit for wining the title but theres no chance in hell they will do it again next year.Originally posted by BrettUSA View PostFirstly, I think calling Manchester United "scum" is infantile and pathetic.

The US economy is heading towards a recession signs are there, firstly the housing market has gone down, since your genius president took over office he hasnt had a surplus as in trade surpluses. Japan and and china is currently financing your debt. Just imagine if they have to ditch the dollar which other country is bold enough to buy your debt, yeah you can always count on Suadi Arabia. Arab countries producing oil and other opec members as well as china wants to diverse its dollar reserves and hold other currencies which will have an impact on your dollar.
I live in canada and the canadian dollar is almost one to one with the US. Its called realism the US economy is ****ed and you will have to bear the fact that it will be soon

I think he would have wanted to win at all costs (judging by his other sporting enterprises). And I think he would have bought the best players to ensure this (regardless of cost/profit).Originally posted by Zambian_Red View PostDIC would have provided with an open war chest and get the top players. Dubai's investment was primarily to promote the area - it therefore follows that they would have wanted Liverpool to be successful. My only concern would have been that the Sheikh may have been too hands on and we could have had a Real Madrid hiring-and-firing situation.
I'm going to bed now. Maybe somebody can explain what a WUM is (I won't be offended!) and who Dunk is. I'll try to respond to any replies tomorrow.
