He's displaying a trait so often seen by the simple minded fans on these forums in recent weeks the: "I want world class signings, and I want them yesterday" attitude. Does nobody else not think that this comes across as a type of glory hunter streak?

I was on RAWK a couple of days ago - ****in horrible place I know - but did anybody else see the thread about the mancs two new signings? Some of our lot embarrassed themselves. Anderson and Nani were never targets for us yet they were whining like spoilt children, that Parry hadn't made a move to sign either of them.

It's only just turned June yet we've got daily posts of reports with little or no foundation scaremongering as to Rafa's finances. Remind me who have Chelsea signed then, or Arsenal? And we've already brought in one of the best young players in Brazil don't forget. Parry's obviously sitting at his desk doing **** all.

I just wonder if the vibe around here would be massively different had we not lost the European Cup final 2 weeks ago, a game which we deserved to win no less.

So be patient and ****in grow up.

the chances are most of our signings are coming from the spanish league and that isn't over yet.

I don't think Gillett & Hicks have any other option this year than to back Beneitez to the hilt this year plus Utd have strenghted quite considerably so far so in order to keep up with them (never mind be better than them) some serious money is going ot be have to be spent. Average player eill not keep us up there now there is to much quality coming into the EPL and we will be in serious danger of just becoming an averge side if somehting is not done.

But to be honest alot more than #30m is going to be have to be spent if we are to have chance of keeping up

That's the core right there. I think Bascombe is premature in his judgment of the owners, and I suspect he will change his opinion quick as hell if or when it becomes apparent that they are genuine and will back Rafa to the hilt.

That is because the players pay higher taxes in Canada so the teams will need to pay higher wages and can't sign as many star players as the American teams can do. That makes a huge difference and it's a big reason to why it's very difficult for a Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup.

They have a wage cap in the NHL as I mentioned before so you can't spend million after million on wages for star player after star player.

Not only that, but the league itself is losing money hand over first and player salaries were destroying the NHL to the point where they canceled the season two years ago. Hockey is never on TV (its primarily shown on a small cable channel, with playoffs on network TV) and the clubs now have a salary cap; But even then, you don't buy and sell players in American sports-- you trade for them or sign them as free agents (essentially Bosmans). Same in baseball, where the small market Texas Rangers were 18th out of 30 in players salaries last year. Why is that? Because of the nature of revenue sharing in baseball; Big market teams have more to spend on player salaries. Even this backfires; The Yankees suck and they spend $194 million year on player salaries.

My point being, this is all made-up crap. Also, if someone can point me to a confirmed target of Rafa's who is available and who we did not sign in THIS transfer window because the American owners said no, I would appreciate it. The fact is, no one can because we haven't been made aware of who the available first targets are nor how much they cost and now nothing of what the new owners are saying about the costs. Fantasies and impatience. FACT.
