So you think that the article telling us that our new owners might not be all that they claim to be and telling us that their other teams fans are pissed off because nothing has changed despite all thier promises, the same promises we are getting, has been sanctioned by the club?

Granted he doesnt rip in to them totally but you cant tell me that the club will be happy about the light it casts them in. Unless your grasp of English is totally off whack and you are reading words thinking they mean something different because were I am sitting, in this city, that article doesnt read great.

Spot on again, mate. One things for sure the honeymoon is most definitely over for our new owners and after all the praise they recieved they're now being portrayed in a different light. It's going to take a big effort from them to win back the praise they initially received. That could turn out to be a good thing for us but the jury is still out.

Everyone is right when they say that the time for talking is over it's now time for action. And as the saying goes "actions speak louder than words".

This has to be the way that we judge them. I really don't see the point in making a pronouncement on them until the transfer window shuts to be honest.

Even then by guarenteeing the stadium plans they have put us in a marginally better position than we were before.

On the Bascombe point I take the fact that he is the best informed journalist, however to assume that the club give him access to much of their internal workings (particularly now that control is in the hand of people in a foreign country meaning that it is far less likely to be people leaking strategic information on a local level) seems almost as naive as AFII's assumptions.

I am currently suspending judgement but it is clear that G&H are not the magical cure all some where expecting and everyone wanted. We just have to see what their business plan is.

But he's reporting it and writes for the Liverpool Echo. When Bascombe starts to put the boot in, all I'd say is that nothing is as rosy as it seems to be.

Add to that the fact that he's surely done a bit of digging after Rafa's outburst after the CL final. All what he says has some strong backing and he's done his homework before writing them, you can be certain of that.

Anyone who thinks there aren't serious issues between Rafa and G&H is deluding themselves in my book. i'm not saying the problems will cause Rafa to go, but he has twice publically criticised them. Now we've Bascombe doing the same. Now I've been following LFC for 30 years, I cannot recall an LFC manager ever publically criticising the owners. To top that, the owners have only been here 5 minutes. Now if thats not a sign of problems, I don't know what is.

Why not? The quotes would have come out anyway in another paper. Better to have a journo that you can trust to write about it than another journo that you can't trust that comes out with it in an even worse way.

Erm because people listen to the Echo, they dont listen to some other journo writing in some other paper. So if you are Liverpool football club, who do you want slagging you off? A trusted source or someone you can easily ignore?

I guess it's a case of wait and see. One thing's for sure though, if Rafa does leave the club under these circumstances it would be a dreadful start from the current owners. It would also be a very sad day for the club. Not only because we'd have lost Rafa but it would be the first manager that's resigned, as far a I can remember, due to the club showing a lack of ambition. We currently have one of the best coaches in world fotball at our club, one who is highly regarded and sought after. The club would be mad not to back him. Who would replace him? I can't think of anyone with as good a pedigree as Rafa who's available.
