He showed glimpses of real talent and i'm sad he didn't make it with us. As people have said grafted and never sulked like ALT did. I thought i read somewhere that Rafa was quite keen to bring him back next season but he's really happy in Spain so who knows.

he wasn't given enough of a run whilst with us. Shame as i have no doubt that he'll become an international striker.
Rafa has weaknesess, pongolle with us last season would have been better than bellamy and that money could easily have been used to secure alvez.
This isn't a hindsight opinion, pongolle was always better than bellamy.

damn, a 1 in 2 record, we could do with someone like that for us!Originally posted by KOP View PostDeportivo La Coruna 2 - 5 Recreativo:
Pongolle has now scored 12goals in 23 appearances[including as a sub]
I've always liked the lad and wish he was given a longer chance with us. But hey, all the best to him and hope he carries on banging in the goals whereever he goes.

You forget THE CROW.Originally posted by peekay View PostHe played very well against Luton too. The reason why I am dissapointed in selling Flo is that he has one attribute which none of our strikers have: trickery and outside of Tevez none of the strikers we are linked to also seem to posses.
Will always remember him for the backheel against Patrick Viera at AnfieldYou learn nothing reading signatures.

Maybe some of you guys can help me out here. I've always been a it confused about the whole pricing a player for a future transfer when he goes out on a season long loan like FSP. I can't really see any point for the selling club to do this, they loan out the player and then sets a fixed price that means that if the players succeeds the buying club would get him for a good price and if he fails they can just send him back.
I don't see what the win is for the selling club unless you have a big fee for the loan so that you would get a fee whether he succeeds or not. I haven't heard anything about this regarding FSP, so for me it's really bad business here. I mean IMO we could easily send him on loan to a midtable or worse team in any of the big countries in Europe, wait and see how it would work out for him and then approach the club and others to set a fee that reflects his performance.

Makes sense I seem to remember at the time of signing him that they were saying they had to break the bank to do so.Originally posted by animal magic View PostRecreativo and villareal have split the transfer fee he stays at recreativo for one more year and then joins villarealYou learn nothing reading signatures.

Not to mention helping to turn that game against Olympiakos! However, I always felt he had a greater impact coming off the bench and wasn't nearly so effective as a starter. There comes a time when 'potential' has to be realised, and FSP was getting towards that and obviously hadn't satisfied Rafa. Good luck to him, though.Originally posted by DeeGame View Posti'll always remember how he saved us in the FA cup vs luton

Crewe expect to wrap up the signing of defender Danny O'Donnell, who was on loan at the club last season, after agreeing a fee for him with Liverpool.
"We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Liverpool," Crewe boss Dario Gradi told the club's website.
"He is keen to come here and he knows what we are willing to pay, so I think him signing will just be a formality.
"Danny is a great lad, an honest lad and I don't think for one second that he will change his mind."
Good luck to the young lad.18-5-7-8-3
