It's clear he's putting pressure on the board. His reports have been spiraled all over the national press.

He may think that's what he is doing, however, I think the club are pulling the strings.Originally posted by fredo View PostIt's clear he's putting pressure on the board. His reports have been spiraled all over the national press.
We have cash to spend but don't want to pay inflated prices just because clubs think we have money to burn. Just because Barca are loaded doesn't mean they won't want to squeeze as much cash out of us as possible

bascombe probably knows a lot more than any of us on here and has good sources within the club so why does everyone slate him when they don`t like what he writes maybe just maybe we have been fed a load of ****e by the yanks and its gonna be the same old story when it comes to signingsOh I say his vision there was lovely

Near enough two weeks since the champs league final and not one sniff of a signing. Apart from the young finnish lads but sure they won't be first team next season.
I'm getting a little worried, yes it's still very, very early days but wasn't Rafa looking to do transfer business immediately after the champions league final
Utd
Chelsea
Arsenal...
Players in already, we have done sweet FA thus far despite intending to bring players in early doors."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I don't think we're in any position to be hanging around.Originally posted by rodo View Postbascombe probably knows a lot more than any of us on here and has good sources within the club so why does everyone slate him when they don`t like what he writes maybe just maybe we have been fed a load of ****e by the yanks and its gonna be the same old story when it comes to signings
To be honest, you can understand people's reactions on here. After what Rafa has said, and also the fact that this summer appears to be going in the same direction as others previous on the transfer front, there is some cause for concern.
Personally I can't believe after what Gillett and Hicks have said that they won't back Rafa with some serious cash this summer. They can't afford Rafa to go as the fans love him and they know they'll get a slating

I thought it was 8m?Originally posted by captainfog View PostBascombe is just talking **** and speculating.
At best he has probably been fed some **** by the club about not having much cash - and if I were the club I would do the same. Why would you want to advertise your millions?
You don't spend 12million on Lucus without a clear idea of budget

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Rafa using Bascombe so he will get the money to sign Alves?Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I thought we only spent between £6M - £8M on Lucas?Originally posted by captainfog View Postdon't believe the limited funds bollox, its all tactics and smoke and mirrors
Rafa wouldn't have spent 12million on Lucas if he knew there would be a limited budget to sign a striker and a couple of wingers
He must have some idea of his transfer budget otherwise how did he sign Lucas and how is he hoping to tie up a deal for Malouda? Isn't this the year where all Premier League clubs get increased TV money as well from the new deal?
Seems a little strange to me
