    Pennant collapses - Times

    Sorry to break the AUP...

    From The TimesJune 7, 2007

    Pennant collapses while on break
Jermaine Pennant was said to be recovering last night after collapsing during a flight to Stansted after a break in Spain. The Liverpool winger reportedly passed out half an hour after take-off from Málaga and was given oxygen by flight attendants.

Pennant, who served a month in jail in 2005 for driving while banned and being over the limit, had allegedly been drinking heavily the night before and had had little sleep. He was accompanied on the plane by Paolo Vernazza, of Barnet, and Jonathan Fortune, the Charlton Athletic defender.

Sky Andrew, Pennant’s agent, said: “He is fine now. He just had a bit of dehydration.”

Hope they shaved his head and maybe an eyebrow while he was out cold - and maybe a permanent marker moustache added

          Bloody lightweights deserve it

The season is over, he's on holiday, a night on the piss is hardly a cardinal sin at this time of year.

he;s young got more money than he knows what to do with

give the lad a break FFS

(and why the papers harp on about him being jailed is beyond me.........we all know he did time)
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

Sorry, but if you have had problems with alcohol before then you should never drink heavily.

I don't think Rafa will be happy at all because it shows that Pennant still have a problem with it.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

AFII he has never been accused of being an alcoholic, he has the odd night out, he is young so let him. If he had been an alcoholic or close to being the only way of going forward is to never drink again.

If you think everyone that drink drives has a problem with drink you are deluded they are just thick as ****. There has been no stories about him hitting Liverpool town every night during the season has there? No. It's the guys holiday give him a break he deserves to go on his Hols and get ****ed up, he has probably been T-Total or drinking very little for the past 9 months.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
