    Next season...

i'm most looking forward to seeing Stevie Gerrard getting back to form of the 05-06 season where he was immense for us right throughout the campaign.
I wasn't shy in having a go at stevie for alot of really poor performances by his standards last season, he looked a shadow of the player that dominated almost every match the season before. That's all in the past however, now with this contract signed, hopefully he'll have a few more world class players to play alongside, married life etc, here's hoping at 27 we will see our great captain perform at his absolute maximum which will be a wondeful sight to behold.

What are you most looking forward to seeing next season with the mighty reds?
Obviously it's hard to say at this stage as some may want to see how our nww signings get on in there first season...if/when they arrive.

I´m looking forward to seeing balance in our team.
Goalkeeping, defence, middle and attack all being equally good.

        Hope it happens.

Some attacking flair in our team and hopefully Xabi Alonso firing on all cylinders.

I think 2 very full and demanding seasons caught up with Stevie. Combine this with a massive amount of expectation piled upon by ourselves and England and you can see why this season wasnt his best.
I hope, like you Marky, that he gets a good rest and this allows him back to his very best for us.

Wingers running riot on either flank with a striker of such ability that defences don't know which way to turn to cope.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

...and when they do get the ball, they come under such pressure from our central midfield (the best in the world) & back line that they give it straight back to us.

your a clown marky. you only think gerrard had a poor season last year because he didnt score as many goals as the previous years and thats because you watch all your footie on the tv or the internet.

his all round play was again very good and he was our best player in more games than not.

overall in the premier league we were poor away from home. in many of the games where the team were dissapointing, it was also in these games where gerrard played below par.

you should try and understand that if the team plays badly then a player like gerrard will see less of the ball, more likely to tire, be caught out of position and find it harder to have an impact on a game.

sure he can do better, i certainly hope thats the case, but you are too keen to say hes been poor your criticism is over the top.

you only single out gerrard because you know you will get a reaction from people and your posts smacks of coming from a bored teenager looking for attention

id like to see some genuine world class players in attack and xabi alonso back to his best and bossing games like he did in his 1st season! i think we would be hard to stop if this happened!

Disagree with you mate, while Marky does talk a lot of **** I think he's mostly right with this one. Stevie had a poor season by his standards, now obviously there's the 2 years without a break reasoning, and that's fair enough I think the same applies with Xabi too, i'm really looking forward to these two getting a proper break this summer and coming back all guns blazing. So probably Marky can't articulate his points all that well but giving him the benefit of the doubt, I think he's fairly accurate about Stevie this season
