But that figure is meaningless because all the touts have got hundreds of fancards each

I think a few people who knew about planning and building rules/regulations pretty much said it would be impossible to jump up to a higher capacity without new plans being submitted. Still sounds very exciting stuff though.

Why don't they issue some 10 game season tickets and 1/2 season tickets so that more people can get to see some games instead of a few seeing them all and tens of thousands seeing none.

It also means that those that cannot afford a full season ticket can get a cheaper version and the club can make more money per seat because the cost per game will be higher for a 10 game and 1/2 season ticket.

That would help lower the waiting list.

why is this the case?

Well it is planning law in Ireland (I work in an Architects office)
It has to be made public for neighbors etc to assess, so they have time to object or whatever. Makes sense doesn't it.

Hicks talked about them doing that in the states in an interview and how you need to have a varied pricing structure. Think they have this kind of thng planned but for 3-5 game lots.
i.e. Have the united game linked to wigan, villa, birmingham and Sunderland ensuring that you sell out the smaller games as well as the big games.

Yes that's a good idea for selling the extra tickets that they reserve for general sale. They do this in the US a lot.

I mean that a proportion of Season Ticket seats should be available in smaller lots as well. So if you buy a mini-season ticket you'd have the same rights as a full season ticket holder in being able to renew it every year and sit in the same seat for every game year in and year out etc.

They may do that as it would be a bigger scheme of what they already do but with gaurentee's of certain games being full - if they go to 76,000 seats as people expect then I would be suprised if they don't do what you hve sugested and what they do in America.

It does mate as far as I know. anyone can go in and inspect the application, including yourself. You can go in and buy a copy if you like lol, might be a nice little souvenir in a few years time.

What if the fixture list covers your 5 games are Wigan, Fulham, Middlesboro, Derby County and Portsmouth, yet the next 5 someone gets Everton, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs? You miss out because you applied earlier?

Bad Idea in my opinion.
